this video should clear up what to check for.

Also look to see if the strut bushings in the engine bay look collapsed.

Example of a collapsed bushing - http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/5875/image1sqx.jpg

chances are that since its an 09 you still have some of the 5yr/100K powertrain left in case the **** hits the fan.

Mine has been nothing but a blast to own. And it has caught pure hell....

no problems with mine yet.

Edit: Nvm just saw the posting date, we just traded in our 09 red g8 with 67k miles last week. Thought it was maybe our car lol

Not every one, but quite a few.
And there are other issues as well.

I've got an 09 GT that I would like to get rid of if you want it.

Check for driveline noise. Mine had to have the driveshaft replaced. The center console and steering wheel will have a thrumming pulsation. It was a pain in the *** to get GM to fix it.

Mine came in at 65mph and went away at 75mph. Just turn everthing off and drive at that speed and listen for it. I have heard GM is no longer replacing the driveshafts under warrant y so im not sure how they are repairing them now.

They are ok cars but not worth it unless you are just hung up on the styling.
