This is only a rumor. I talked with a Pontiac tech yesterday and he said that there may be a holdup on the GXP G8 because they are considering the LS7 for it. Anyone hear anything about this?

^^not much worse than one of those cadalac(sp???) with the corvette motors. are they getting rid of the zo6s now? if they are with the new zr1 coming out, they will have to move the ls7 to something else i hope its the new camaro not this g8.

Wow that would be sweet but it'll never happen, not on next years model anyway. HSV will build a W427 that features the LS7 but it will be EXTREMELY limited to 427 units at a cost of 150K each...
HSV W427...
Me...I just want the intake...ok I'll take the whole car but I'll start w/ the intake...

The LS7 won't happen. Rumors of the LS7 in anything beyond the Z06 are nothing more than people talking just to talk. The LS7 is not practical in any way from cost of parts like ti rods to the hand-build production. It will not be in any other mass produced production car.

HSV are building W427's as I type. Believe it or not but Chevrolet are not the only ones in the world who have full access to premium engines from GM Powertrain.

Just like I said, it won't ever be in a mass produced production car. I don't know how a limited edition $150,000 car fits into that category.

Yea that car is going to have an extremely limited run so it's not comparable to the GXP. And as sweet as that car is, if you actually bought one they're way overpriced for what you get. Even the models with an LS3 are the equivelent of like $65k here.

Your right, for 10 grand you get 100 hp. Not a better built car in everyway (I like g8's too but you can't compare a new g8 to the new V). Also for $10,000 you get a blower that means a pully/tune equalys an easy 75-100 hp. So for $11000 more than the G8 you can get a well designed car with 600+ hp that will out run any 4dr production car ever built.

I think that IF they were going to upgrade to a more HP motor, it'd be the LSA in the new CTS-V. And maybe it'd be named something like the G8-GT-OMG. The name might need a small tweak, but the motor seems reasonable.

Unfortunately there is nothing in the pipe like that for North America...atleast not at this moment.
