why not just call it a G8 GTX, like the older GTX grand prix slp modified. I dont own a firehawk but i can tell the name just doesnt flow with the G8, the styling of it or anything. theres plenty of names that would go so much better with the SLP G8. **** you could even just call it that like other people have said. but you guys do own the name so we really cant stop you, but honestly a better fitting name the flows with the styling would really boost sales i think.

Truthfully...they are going to do what they want...instead of telling to change the name...tell them just to make sure the car performs everybit as a car with the "firehawk" moniker should. The name wont be tanted if for example its got enough power to run a high 11's in the quater and still pull close to 1g in the skidpad. Granted i would rethink the firehawk sticker to be a little more update and im dont really like the 2tone stuff. but hey if they can make me a car that is as bad *** as something with the firehawk name on it should be without being crazy expensive i would buy it. Hell, if it runs high 11's and pulls close to 1g they can call it the G8 ***** Powder Edition for say $37K I would buy it!

So basically you get a factory motor with (assuming 1.5 is stock) 1.6 RRs, CAI, exhaust and a tune as far as performance goes. Good for about 100hp, being generous. I'd think more around 85hp though, but I'm not a GENIII+ person. For the non-supercharged V8 model that is.
I was hoping for at least a cam, but I suppose that's all they could get away with for 'engine work' w/o GM saying they wouldn't warranty it.
Wonder if SLP will run a Roots style (intake replacement like the CTS-V and Vette) supercharger, or if it'll be a goofy centrifugal (by goofy, I just don't like the looks compared to a Roots, just my opinion though heh).

Wow turning the name of a badass car into a family sedan. EVEN A V6??? I dont even OWN a Pontiac and i think its retarded. Perhaps you should read all of the negitive comments and rethink this choice. Just think how many pepole are on here and how many will tell there family and friends to not buy the car....i hope this firehawk fails miserably

it should be called
SLP G8, much like SVT with their stangs, and even made a ad to go with it, the Firehawk name should and always be with the birds, its part of their legacy they left behind thats to precious to stamp the name on a G8
