heres what i call irony.....so a thread is started with the title new g8 firehawk edition and good buddy Dave says that firehawk.org would be better to get his demographics yet here on ls1tech you end up with a 40 page thread with free demographic information....crazy how that works. any who from a business stand point i see slp as just out to make a dollar it also says to me that they can more or less spit on f body owners. to me a special edition car title should be unique to the platform its on. but thats my .02 cents

yeah, if you talk smack about the "new" firehawk at firehawk.org, your thread will promptly get axed, and you could possibly get axed. you don't see many threads on the g8 firehawk discussed there do you? kinda funny if that's their demographic for it now. not much traffic there compared to here. and like a fool, i paid for 2yrs of dues there.

This "Firehawk" G8GT is less than surprising news. I could honestly careless though, the SLP brand died in my opinion the day they began offering parts to ford and mopar. Just another unexclusive, non-fan driven company trying to make a quick buck. At the risk of loosing the support of the demographic that got them to where they are.

I wish ALL parties the best of luck, but personally, I am NOT optimistic about the BIG 3. (or at least 2), IF YOU READ MY POST FROM 3-4 months ago when I proposed the automotive industries market value decline.
Dave is correct in stating "they must focus on the future success of their business", but today's NEW MUSCLE CAR, is tomorrow's obsolete vehicle.
Let this be a lesson for ALL concerned

ok sorry if this has been addressed, since I wasn't about to read all 41+ pages or whatever but..
First of all I applaud SLP's actions in being pretty much the sole GM tuner out there. The biggest advantage the Mustang crowd has over the GM crowd is the large amount of available tuner options from Steeda, Rousch, Saleen, Shelby, etc. SLP is pretty much our sole active "tuner" company out there and should deserve our praise for that.
That being said, this would be the equivelant of Shelby building a GT500 Taurus. If that happens I'll eat my hat. They would never do it because it would degrade the GT500 name and they know that. I would expect SLP to uphold to the same standards personally...
