well i have never owned a hawk just a ws6 and 6 camaros(z28's and a SS), now that i am older and have a daughter i am in the market for a performance oriented 4dr now and have been considering a G8 GXP. so i say if the car turns out to be a performance freak by all means i wouldnt mind owning it however i do believe that the hawk name belongs on a fbody. Its not much effort to remove a sticker or two. i just hope that the price tag isn't completely obsurd.

Considering the lack of activity of SLP in this thread, I can't imagine they have many rebuttals to the criticism here. Depending how high the sticker is on the loaded G8 F******k, if high enough, I would imagine the "intended audience" would just go for the CTS-V...?

For those following at home, since the opinions played louder than some of the Kool-Aid drinkers on Firehawk.org, the thread was locked

From the thread on Firehawk.org

As tested by the magazine, initial 0-60mph was 4.3 seconds and the 1/4 mile was 12.6 @115mph.
Pricing has not been mentioned anywhere.

I work at a Pontiac Dealership and we got the brochure's in today, the option is $16,000.00 and it has 500hp. I do not have any GXP's in to base the MSRP of that off of and add the option but you're talking around $45k easily. I'll see if I can grab the brochure but the owner is holding onto them for now.

The GXP's are ~40K, so do the math.

So you won't pay $16, 000 for 140Hp but instead spent over $10 000 more (MSRP) on the car you own for 5 hp?

Shades of 1991. The original Firehawk was so expensive that nobody could afford them. Almost the same pricing 20 years ago. I would imagine the same kind of sales figures for the G8 Firehawks.

It wasn't until 93 that the Firehawks got to be cheaper and sold half way decent. So I would think the any G8 Firehawk will end up holding its value just like the 3rd gen Firehawks have held their value better than 4th gens.

or spend 60K in to your current F-body and make it 10x's more powerful... i'm happy where i'm at. all i need to do is re-tune and turn up the boost ... 500 to the flywheel, or 500 to the wheels... i'll take option 2
