It most likely will not fit without modification. The trans sits too far forward to be a direct fit.

I have an MGW-P and absolutely love it. One of the best mods I have done to my car. It's a little pricey at $335 but well worth it IMO.

Its not interchangeable, like already said, the tranny sits further forward on gto so the shifter has an s bend in it. I was able to put the stick/**** from my camaro onto shifter on gto by widening one of the holes and cutting off some off the bottom of stick.

I too have the MGW-P. It's fantastic shifter, very 'snickety' with a short throw. One complaint is that it rattles but I'm hoping a thicker gasket solves that.

You bought the wrong car for things like that. The GTO is really different for things like that.

PS, don't get the Hurst or B&M shifter to save a penny. They are pretty crappy with tons and tons of bad reviews.

The GMM race shifter is not cheap, but dollar for dollar the best mod I made to my GTO. Installation is not difficult and it makes the M6 much more fun to shift.

All you would need is to have a handle made that angles it further back toward you like the cobra mgw's or gto mgw's have.

I have had the stock, hurst and now the mgw.. Doubt it gets better.

Don't cheap out on a shifter. It's something you use every time you drive the car. MGW-P or GMM are the only two options as far as I'm concerned. Don't bother with a hurst. Everyone I've known has hated it.

Love my Billet shifter! Yes, expensive, but great quality in a short throw shifter. Have had mine for 5 yrs now and no probs yet..Bought thread on piece from member on other site so I can run my pistol grip handle with a red button on top!

if your looking into a shorter stick with a little different feel you can always just go with the lous short short stick. i had a b&m removed and replaced i with a mgw, i dont notice a HUGE difference, but if your interested i have a b&m ill sell for cheap as well... good luck with your search
