Arrow $5000 GM Card Incentive - New '04 for $18,622

Normally I do not cross post from other forums, but I haven't seen this mentioned on this forum yet, and I figured you guys might want to save a few grand... GM Card is offering an additional $3000 off ADDED to the already $2000 roundup bonus for a total of $5000 off. Only some cardmembers were selected for this and it is a random process. You had to be a member before the roundup promotion began last month.

Yes, it can be combined with any GMAC rebates as well as the $500 dealer value certificates. I have called GM Cardmember Services twice and it has been verified. Other members from other GTO sites have confirmed this as well. Here is a deal I am able to get.... three different dealers agreed to this:

[had to break this up in two posts due to my dialup... has problems with long posts]

$30,700 - Invoice for M6 including destination

($1500) - Dealer value certificates

($5000) - GMAC rebate

($500) - Half of the holdback

---------------------------

$23,700 plus TTL.... minus GM card roundup of $5000 (technically $5073 for me), so $18,622. About $20k out the door.

Those who live in the East with the $5500 GMAC rebate can actually get this car for less than this, if they qualify for the GM card roundup. Some might even be able to get all of the holdback, so it might be possible to get into the high $17k range, almost half of MSRP.

This is for a silver with red interior M6. Post your comments!

Nope. You had to have a GM card before the roundup promotion began, which was sometime last month I believe.

My wife has the GM card(over a year). I go to her account and see that they have given her $2000 in "topped off" earnings. Is this the roundup? If so, that means for some reason she didn't get the additional $3K? Was the $3K bonus truly random or for previous GM vehicle buyers? I've never purchased a GM vehicle new. But I'd go buy the '04 GTO tomorrow if I could get the deal you've outlined.

Also what is this dealer value certificates? Is that something I'm eligible for also?

The GM cardmember services page lists the $2k roundup bonus on mine and others as well, but it is not correct. You have to call to ask what the total you can use towards the '04 GTO is and if you are eligible for the extra $3k they have as an incentive.

As for the selection process, I am not sure how they do it. I joined in February of '04 and was selected, but others have reported they are not eligible (even after complaining to supervisors, they are not able to add this bonus if you are not selected which pisses a lot of people off). I did not have the GTO selected as my "preferred" vehicle but was selected anyway... I changed my preferences just in case for future promos.

[damn dialup... not doing this for post counts]

As for the dealer value certificates, dealers are allocated a certain number of $500 certificates each month based on how many vehicles they sell and the score of their customer satisfaction surveys (yes, they do count for something!). They can use up to three per deal for a total of $1500. The dealers want to move the '04s quick, so it should not be that difficult to find ones that will use three of them for your car... like I said in my post, three different dealers agreed to this... and I actually had another that wanted to but he ran out of certificates since he is a smaller dealer.

Basically, all of these promos are seperate from the dealer's profit. The only thing they are giving up is half of the holdback, and with the amount still on the lots this late in the season, it is not that difficult to get.

Call the cardmember services hotline and post here with what they say. From there, go to gmbuypower.com and e-mail around to see who can match this deal. Good luck.

The only variance you might see is dealers not wanting to part with half of the holdback. It is late in the season and many will as they will still get $500 out of this deal. E-mail around and they should budge. Even at invoice though, this deal is still awesome ($19.1k).

One other thing, I do not know what state you are from but the GMAC bonus varies by region. I'm from Illinois where we have the $5000 GMAC bonus, but it ranges between $3500-5500 depending on the region... Check gmbuypower.com's current offers to see what you are eligible for.

edit: Yet another point to anyone else who may be lurking this thread... if you had $2k or more in GM card earnings, you would be rounded up to $3k. Anything less than $2k was rounded up to $2k. Then the $3k is added on top of this. As also mentioned, there is a $5500 GMAC rebate on the east coast ($500 more than here in Illinois). With those things considered, with everything else of this deal being equal.... a GTO can be had for ::drumroll please::...... $17,200 brand new!!!!!!

They are making it very hard to resist. I could pick up an 04 right now for under $20,000 (I've had the GM Card since it was released and nearly $4,000 off any GM product with it).

But alas, I'm still waiting to get an 05 with the LS2.

I dont currently have a GM card, but am seriously wondering how good of a deal I could get. I'm a GM employee working for a Pontiac dealer and could get a sweet deal I bet. Problem is I have never boughten a brand new car, but with these deals I'd be pretty stupid to pass up this offer on the 1 silver 04 we have left on the lot.

Max GM dollars (from the current Platinum Card) you can use on a GTO is $1,000 + the Bonus of $3,000, so only $4,000 off, but still a HUGE bonus!!!

Great info Stealthnet! I really appreciate it. I'm definitely going to investigate this more.

BTW I'm in Houston,TX and the GM cash incentive is $5500 here.

It seems that according to the GM card website that only $1K max can be applied from the GM card earnings towards a GTO. But even in that case 30700-5500-1500-500-1000-3000= $19200.

I'll definitely post back what feedback I get from the dealers on this.

Yes, the maximum allowance on the GTO is $1,000 for regular earnings. However, go to www.gmcard.com/roundup and it will say in the fine print that the roundup bonus can exceed the regular maximum allowance. Then, for select cardmembers there is $3000 of bonus GM card cash in addition to this for three vehicles (SSR, GTO, and another I can't remember), which is not mentioned on the site... you need to call about it. Total of $5k.

I called GM cardmember services twice, both times I got different people who said I can use $5000 towards a GTO, plus whatever earnings I had between the start of the first roundup bonus and today, which was $73.

Medvader, since the redemption center for the GM card is closed today, call tomorrow and be sure to post what they say.

Here is a post from ls1gto.com where a guy got a new GTO for $18.5k including the $5k GM Card roundup:

I took advantage of this today!! 2004 Yellow Jacket 6 speed 31,000 Invoice minus 5500, plus a little over 5000 on the GM card and two certificates (no holdback) under 20K!!! What a steal!! My mom is so excited! After getting a screaming deal for my friend Greg this weekend, my mom wanted one too!!! I wish I could have one for myself! Just going to have to settle for the c-6!
