You put it on a slick and didn't pull the rubber off before taking it into the dealer?!

Ok I have to not believe this a bit... Their is no way BOTH the drive shaft AND rear end broke at the same time. Either one or the other... The most likely stress point to fail would be the RUBBER coupling between the drive shaft and rear end. I believe BMR was running something like a 200 shot off the line going 10's before they broke their factory rear end. They never claim to have broke the drive shaft IIRC, but they upgraded their drivetrain to hold plenty of power. (And no doubt to sell more drivetrain components.)

Their are probably a dozen people on LS1GTO running STS or Prochargers, at least a few are running 11's, at least one STS person in the 10's on a stock drivetrain.

So exactly what did you do again? As for asphalt on the rear end?? K that doesnt make sence. Their is no way the rear end would hit the ground unless the car was dropped out of an airplane or something. The differential housing is bolted to the frame from the rear and subframe from the top. That puppy isnt going anywhere.

The only way I could even imagine the differential AND drive shaft might have broke at the same time is if you were being a knucklehead and yanked the parking brake while driving in gear causing the differential and driveshaft to take a massive shock load causing both to bind and break under the engines load still. Seeing as the parking brakes are uber touchy on the GTO, that would make a bit of sence, but still wouldnt make it a faulty component failure. (More like abuse, which is why I can see they wouldnt want to warrenty it.)

Either that or you have uber heavy 20's on the bitch and tried to do a burnout, instead the massive load of 65 pound wheels twisted everything into a knot.

Time bomb? Have you seen any strange looking people with a rag over their face around your car recently? Just kidding...

Sounds odd. I cant see why both would suddenly fail like that. Is it an 04 or 05? IIRC the rear gears and CV axles were upgraded on 05's.

bitch at them or get legal help

they just dont want to cover you, a little rubber in the tire doesn't prove anything.

Legaly they cannot void the warrenty on the whole car. I'd demand they replace the broken components and then promply sell the car. I wouldnt mention the 'trouble' with it after it is fixed though.

Get a lawyer. They respond well to legal letters. Threaten a lawsuit.

And, it does take a lot to break one of these, but GM has had diff problems with a few.
