Sell 02 z06 and get gto? My cousin got his 02 z06 8 months ago and is already tired if it. It is a totally badass car but he wants something nicer and for how much he pays for it and drives it he said it is not worth it to him. He likes it but its loud on the inside and he said he doesnt like driving it that much. I think it was just a phase. He wants somethign made better like a gto. Still has power but is alot nicer. He wants 04 cause you can get killer deals on them but I think he should really get an 05. Let me know what yall think.

first off Chargers SUcK
and i think he should get the 04, like you said, kIller deals.
and lots of mods can be done because of the ls1 powerplant.
if he doesnt want to modd as much i say go for the 05

Personaly, i'd keep the Z06 but that's just me... 
If he gets an 04, he should make sure it has had all the TSB's done to it before he gets the mod bug. Then its all good.... Few grand in the right places is worth plenty of speed, just check out the 9 second GTO video for a good example what a lot more money can do to an 04. (Hell, guys with bolt-on STS kits on otherwise stock LS1's are going 11's on DR's. Faster than a Z06, more daily driveable and easy on gas still.)
I still like my 05, but if their were any killer deals on blue on blue 04's when the prices were uber low, I would have jumped one then.

Everything else being equal Z06 > GTO IMO so I personally wouldn't make a swap. BUT, with that said, it sounds like your cousin may want something that's more of a comfortable cruiser/daily driver, in which case the GTO may be just right. There is certainly no argument from me that its a great daily driver - especially if you don't need the rear seats. I would certainly look for an 05 vs an 04 - probably some good deals to be had still on 05's too as the dealers make room for the 06's. JMHO...

I understand why he wants to make the switch, having experienced both.
That said... I'd advise him to wait until '06 and buy and '05 GTO instead of the '04. The '04's are too dull IMO.
BTW - The Charger SUCKS and I'm a Mopar guy!!!

Buddy of mine selling his 13,000 mile 04 GTO for $20,000 (with mildly worked heads and LPE GT2-3 cam already installed). He's looking for a Z06, so maybe he and your cousin can work something out...

01 C5 Z51
02 Z06
04 GTO - Stock, then with G5X3 Cam and 243 Heads
Now have 05 CTS-V
The Z06 gives you a visceral thrill like nothing else, but is small and rough to drive every day.
The GTO has a great ride and is a blast with the right mods. Hard to beat for the money.
I really needed a bigger trunk and 4 doors and wanted Navi (outside sales), hence the move to the Caddy.
