well, seeing as you have 4.10's, you'd be turning 164 mph

I wouldnt suggest doing that to much with 4.10's. The amount of friction your are creating inside the rear end with those 4.10's is unreal. I wouldnt doubt it if it was seeing temps close to or above 300 degrees.

As a side note. It seems that many factory tachs are off by as much as 300 rpm (mine is). I'm not saying yours is wrong, it may be perfect. Sometimes the tach is not a very good speedometer (and sometimes it is). I'm fairly certain that you have plenty of horse power to turn that MPH.

Be safe!

My question is this, I just put in a Moser 9in w/3:89 gears. I'm on the autobahn everyday crusing at speeds between 125-145mph for extended period. What should I do to get the temps down lower??? Slowing down is not an option I spend time on the Nurnberg Ring and auto-x....alot of track use.

Hmm I calculated 161.9 mph. firechicken, I wouldn't worry about it with the 9 inch & 3.89 gears. NASCAR uses 9 inch rears and they run 200 mph. As you know I've had mine up to 161 with no problems and that's a 9 inch with 4.11s.

Diff cooler. Tilton pump, fluidyne cooler with built on fan. You can run the pump to a on/off switch inside the car.

NataSS INC,
Thanks for the info. That's what I was thinking about doing. I just need to find a place to put it.

There is PLENTY of room to tuck it under the rear bumper or to sides of of the bumper. With the built on fan you dont have to have it in the path of direct air flow. so you can even mount it facing the ground back there.

Do they make any aluminum diff covers with cooling fins? That would be any easy way to help out if they do.

Just having cooling fins on the cover is not enough. the amount of heat your rear end generates at speed is extremely high.
