Default Any F-Body owners racing standing mile? Post your results!

I know that a big $$ LMR Camaro once broke Texas mile record, but leave that aside, are there any 4 gen F-Body owners who have tried standing mile? Here in Finland there are about 5 or so events every summer and it took one run and I was hooked! First time my car had 327 rwhp, bad O2's and it still ran 148 mph. At that time the speed was measured at 1700 meters/1,056 mile, but since then it has been officially one mile event, held two times every summer. A week ago I ran 153 mph with 434 rwhp, only 2 psi of boost, full weight + 240 lbs passenger, bad air filter, untuned, heavy 18" Z06 Replicas (and other excuses )

F-Body guys and girls, please share your standing miles results!

yea there is a guy on this forum with H/C/I mostly stock bottom end LS1 making 500+rwhp and did something like 175mph in a trans am I think. He had a video to I beleive cant remember where I seen it though. Oh probably in the dyno thread. Wish I had a place to go down a full mile run, sounds like fun, but I dont know of any around me.

not an Fbody.... but I went 204mph with 4psi on a forged LS3 setup in a little Mazda RX-7 and my buddy did 207mph. I drove the 1st pass and launched shifted super mellow. Mojave Mile with DA of 5,000ft and 90* temps. We were running Nitto NT-01 275/35/18 tires all around. In 100% street trim.

We had #7 piston melt during one of the passes (or slowly on all of them) and could only do 3 passes. In spring we hope to head back with the new forged LS9 motor/MAST LS3 heads and really see what it can do.

Aerodynamics is huge for 1 mile racing. The little RX-7 has a very small hole to punch thru the air.

When was this run? Weren't you out there at the last event (not this October, but I think in May)? Nice runs, btw!

What gear did you cross the line at? What RPM were you at with your 3.08 gears?
