It's a repost, but this is a very inspiring video sequence.
Pay particular attention to Stuck's demeanor behind the wheel as he negotiates traffic ...

That is one composed and focused driver

Yessir, when you think yer **** don't stink, take a look at the guy next to you.
There will ALWAYS be someone faster ...
I rode a few laps with Lou Gigliotti in his old shop car. Did I watch his line? No. Did I watch his corner entry speed? No. Did I watch how hard he used his brakes? No.
I watched intently how he used his feet and hands. His hand speed, like you see in the video was freaking amazing. Taught me more about being in control than a 100 laps of seat time.

I figured he averaged around 92mph around the almost 13 mile track, so he was booking. I think most drivers consider 10 min lap times on a decently fast street sports car to be respectable. I figured he did it on about 8min 27sec. Some of those turns are just plain scary at those speeds considering the small margin of error.

Am I the only one who watched this and thought to my self that GT4 did a great job of recreating this track since I was anticipating the corners almost dead on.
Though I do not think I ever got a M3 GTR around it that smooth.

Yes they did a fantastic job!
I already beat the 24 Hr race on Nürburgring. Now it's time to beat it in the real life hahah!
This track is hard as it is in the game, imagine this in the real life... holy crap.

It lends more to the fact that some young pro drivers learn new tracks that they have never seen by driving them on simulator games. I had heard that Dale Jr and Denny Hamlin had used this to prepare for new track. That was all I was trying to say.
The guy is a very smooth driver, and never seems to faulter on a very difficult track. Far above my abilities real or simulated.

Thats a dog cut geared transmission, pretty much race only. It sounds like that no matter how hard or gentle you are with it.
They take hard gear changes at any RPM and they have very customizeable ratios. So they can sit there and look at the longest strait and figure out how to end that section at redline in 5th. Its freakin cool.

I actually used that video side by side with a BMW touring car in Gran Turismo 4. Start a lap in the game and start the above video. A few tweeks of the gear ratios and the game is accurate enough to almost duplicate the same shift points as Stuck is doing in real life on every corner. Not perfect but darn close. And yes I admire the skills shown in that video which is why I use it as tool to try and keep concentrated for an entire lap of the ring. Is the game the same as real racing? No. But its a good way to build your focus thats needed in doing the real thing.

Please don't mix GT4 with the real thing. While GT4 may depict the track in somewhat detail. Its still missing somuch. It will never match it for real hands on driving. In GT4 you get away with hitting the armco , if you hit the armco while actually driving you won't get away with it.

Dude, noone is saying that GT4 is like the real thing, we just said that they did pretty damn good job with making the tracks in the game
Never say never.
