Racing Footwear?
Hey fellas, i was wondering if there is a type of shoe that you perfer to use when racing/driving in a spirited manner?
Reason i ask is because i have big feet and Running shoe, boots, and any big shoe really hinders my ability to shift right. I loose the shoes and i do fine though. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue.
I just got the chance to pick up a pair of Speedwell Boost Mids. Has any one tried these or any other driving type shoe?

I have a few pairs of the Adidas Tuscany's, some new name now. Plus one pair of the Puma's. I have been looking at the Pilotis and heard good things.
I also have one pair of real Nomex high cuts from a Canadian company Leaf. Terrible to walk in and have a heat liner in the sole, but are safer if needed.
My favorite so far was my first pair of suede Tuscany's though. Not bad to walk in and have a nice thin sole. Still have them and save for special drives.
I only wear a size 11 but I made a simple mod under my dash to make driving the Formula easier. I drilled a 3/16 hole in the under dash cover beside the sterring column, and used a tie wrap to go around the column and pull the cover up further. I figure I gained 3/4" to allow for better heel and toe action without my toe hanging up under the dash.

Good idea about the under dash. I just made a driver mod too. Move the damned seat back two inches and now all my shifting is smooth as glass. HAHAHA, i couln't figured that one out for the month that i've had the 6spd. Talk about driver error.
I ended up getting the Speedwell Boost Mid.
They are very comfortable and grip well. Kinda wierd to walk in though. I'll see how they work, if i don't like em' i'm thinkin of trying one of the ones you guys recommended.
**** the pumas look like a good style regular shoe

Just some food for future purchases.
For racing I use a pair of the Alpine star high tops. very nice and have the nomex lining.
I have 2 pair of Pilotis. I LOVE them. One of the most comfortable shoes I own. I have both the "Prototipos" and "G16's". If anyone is interested in a Pilotis, let me know. I have a vendor I can get some decent deals through.
