Default 7 second LS1

So I got my Hot Rod this month and theres a short article about the first LS1 in the 7s. The car is a '02 Trans Am with a procharged LS1. The owner Ronnie Duke drove it to a 7.94 @ 176.53mph on January 19th at Bradenton Motorsports Park, Bradenton, FL. Accroding to the article its the quickest LS1 powerd street-legal car in the world.

Did anyone else see this article? And what did you think about it?

the article actually tells you a very different story than you typed out there, you must not have read it very well. Ronnie didn't drive it, it's a C5R motor (which is an LS1) but it's not anywhere close to your LS1 motor.

No it doesnt I had the article right next to me when I typed it. I read it pretty well. I paraphrased the whole article. It doesnt say that its a C5R but I could see that.

well, the article i saw (might not have been the hot rod one) actually tells the truth...it's a C5R motor, big blower, and duke wasn't within 10 feet of it when it was driven down the track to whatever ET it ran. it's a VERY, VERY impressive car none the less. very fast, and a ton of nice fabrication in it.

If i'm not mistaken, it's a 427 ci motor using a C5R block and i'm not sure the heads/cam/intake setup on it, and it's got a procharger (I think it's an F1 or F1-R, not sure) pushin a lot of boost!!!

it's a 382 ci motor, atleast that's what the article i read says. and it's an F2R blower with an air to water intercooler, it's basically the baddest LS1 in the jungle...very nice setup for sure.

Street legal mean insurance, registration, etc.

Of course, his 7.9x passes don't count, right?

In some hick county where all they require is a visual inspection of lights, horn and two working wipers, then yea I guess it would be street legal.
