Where or who can I get a guesstimate on my HP?
I picked up a 355ci Shortblock with L2256 4VR flat tops and they spec out at 9.8:1 CR (64cc head). The heads I have are P+P 64cc World Sportsman II heads. They are the 200cc ones.
And heres the cam:
•Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 285/285
•Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 235/235
•Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .507/.507
•LSA/ICL: 108/104
•RPM Range: 2200-6200
And Im using a performer rpm intake with a holley 750 carb oh and full roller rockers.
Im hoping to put some good power down but Id like to get an idea before hand....if not ill just wait till I can dyno it in the car.

As I recall, those pistons sit way down in the hole on a stock deck. If the block hasn't been decked and you are running a standard head gasket, your compression will be lower than 9.8:1. Any flow #'s on the heads? I am going to guess around 400HP (or a little lower) unless the compression is a true 9.8:1 and the heads flow well.

Yeah, maybe you are right Zones. I am probably being a little conservative. 425 sounds easy and maybe 450 if the compression is up there and the heads are done decent.
I know a guy that was making over 500 in a 350 with those heads. He had a good bit of work done to them, but that engine worked!

The pistons sit damn near flush with the deck. The ones im running now sit REALLY low. Im going to use about a .041 gasket. Which when I used a CR calc it gave me the 9.8. The pistons are spec'd at 9.72 but with all my measurements it came out to the 9.8.
These heads have put down 550 whp on the old 406 they were on before I got them so I know they can flow well. If I knew the rest of the combo on the 406 I could get a better idea on mine but I bought them quite a while back.

that cam is gonna kill it if the heads are that good... you should get a something with a split and closer to 550 lift... really should be thinking solid roller.....even a smallish one like one of the smaller Voodoo cams

im going to use a 2 pc. timing cover cause im going to swap it out later for a low boost turbo set up. If I end up not doing the turbo then I can swap out the cam anyway when I have some more cash. I was looking into the roller cams and they are insanely expensive....

just about anything is better than that old cam though.. its a single pattern and those heads need a split cam...if anything just get lunati Voodoo Hyd. flat tappet cam.
