The larger lift cams actually usually have smaller lobes. They can not make them any larger than the cam mains, so they actually remove material from the backside so that the difference from when the lifter is on the base to when it is on the crown is larger.

Kickass there is a company in easton that is called camcraft cams call him and he has a cam doctor and he grinds custom cams real nice guy tell him mike rogers sent you.
