Default SBC W/ 6-71 in 93-97?

Has anyone on here done it? How big of a pain is it to have the windshield cut? Thanks for any info.

I already have the 6-71,plus I think it would look badass with the scoop hanging out of the hood.

I'm thinking it would require extensive clearancing of the cowl and windshield. I know I have seen one done, but that was about 8-10 years ago, and I don't remember what was done.

Wouldnt u just be able to run motorplates and an electric fan and just move the motor REALLY car forward to help for some of the clearance issues?

I think I would stay away from moving the motor forward. I would rather get a plexiglass windshield and do some cutting/tinwork.

I agree, I have thought about a lexan windshield. I also think that cars with the engine sitting too far towards the front look goofey with a blower sticking up, If you understand what I'm talking about.

Not to mention weight distribution issues.

Yea, I'll probably just go with a G-body.

What 6-71 do you have? What pulleys, manifold, etc.

Weiand,Stock pulleys for now, 2 carter carbs, and just the SB intake that comes with the kit.
It is all new to me, I have never ran a blower before but I couldn't pass it up for the price. Here's what I got:
6-71 blower
2 carter 600's
all linkage
braided lines
lower intake
air cleaners & scoop
All polished
All brand new, still in boxes except the carbs
$2,000.00!!!

Well, I am putting it on a 383ci
Eagle forged rotating assembally
Forged 8.0:1 Pistons
Roller cam, haven't decided what size yet
Dart heads (cast iron) ported & polished 2.05/1.60
TH-400 W/3500 stall
12 bolt 4:11 gear
3000 lb. G-body
10" slicks, full suspention

I would eventually like to get the new N20 setup that they sell for blowers but it's an extra grand that I've got to come up with.
I would like to get into the mid-low 10's without the juice, and deep in the 9's sprayin. I forgot to mention that I'll be changing the stock pulley and running about 12 lbs. of boost. What do you think? Sound realistic?

Don't you think a GM block will handle it? I was hoping that I could get by without having to buy an aftermarket block but I guess it would be cheaper to do it right the first time.

I think you will have a real problem with that blower trying to build big boost. It's meant for a street application, not a race setup.

Like I said, this is all pretty new to me but from what I've heard I can get pulleys that will make it produce up to 14 lbs. of boost. I also heard that it is not recomended to run it like that very much.
