Default 05 CTS-V vs. 350Z and Tauras SHO (first kills in new car!)

1st race- Friday night on the way home after work pulled up to a light on the service road of Dallas North Tollway and a 350Z pulls up next to me... I look over and the 350Z guy started Reving at me! I asked what mods he had and he said exhaust CAI and tune. He had thought I was just a reg CTS because he asked how much my V6 put out! I tolld him enough, but then he started talking about how tweaked out he was! I just rolled up my window on him in mid sentence. Light turned green and we went. He automaticaly jumped out by a car! By mid gear in first I was passing him and by 2nd gear I put about 3 cars on him! He then did the ricer move and jusmped onto the Tollway and took off! I wasnt able to talk to him after that!

2nd race- Sunday morning on my way to work I was on I35 heading towards 635! It was about 6:00am with almost no one on the road! I was flighing at about 75mph when I noticed that I was in a lane that was about to exit! I sped up to about 85mph so I could get in front of a car that I was already in the process of passing so I wouldnt have to exit. As soon as I got side by side with the car I was trying to pass he started pacing me so I couldnt get over and force me to take the exit! I got pissed off hit my brakes and got behind him! As I got behind him I saw the "SHO" emblem on the back of his car so I got in the far left lane and went back to 75mph to pass him! I looked back and he was about 3 cars back so I just let it go! Before I know it I see him flying past me so I downshifted and auto matically stopped his pull and put about 3 cars on him before I noticed a HUGE puttle in my lane that caused me to have to slow down so I wouldnt hit the wall at 115+
He then flew past me so I just let him go!!!! Lol, the SHO was WAY MORE of a challenge the the Z car!!!! Anyways these were my VERY FIRST KILLS in my new V!!!!

That SHO would have to be pretty heavily modified to be faster than a 350Z, but good kills nonetheless . Enjoying the new car, I take it?

Ditto.

Every SHO is dog slow, and a later 350z will give you a decent run but will still lose.

The 07-09 350z runs mid to low 13's at over 104mph.
About on par or a hair slower than an LS1 fbody, but by no means slow for a stock car...

An 07+ 350z should hang with you at higher speeds with a good driver

Somehow those numbers you post don't play out on the street.

I've never seen any 350Z hang with any LS1 F-body, stock or modded.

So? I was running with LT1 F-bodies in my old '98 GT back when it just had H-pipe/turndowns and a K&N air filter. And that car was mid 14s on a great day.

The majority of 350zs on the road are pre '07, those run very high 13's to low 14's at just over 100mph...
Those will not hang with an LS1 Fbody, obviously.

You most likely raced a 03-05, the newer one are pretty mean(Like may lose to you a little less than that one did) My friends 2006 350z strapped it to a mach1 yesterday from a dig and a roll.

I want to do a good roll race with an evenly matched car, but havent had the chance to. The closest chance I got was with the SHO (not evenly matched) but he tried to do a ricer fly-by...

You sure it wasn't an 07+? Those got different engines, higher redline, two throttle bodies vs one, better flowing heads, more torque, etc...

'07+ 350z and an Auto Mach 1 sounds about right.
