Default Stage 2 Cobalt Kills, then a few rolls with some cbr600's

This weekend was full of kickass weather so me and some friends hit the road with a camera. Started off filming my buddies' gsxr 1k, R1, and zx12r, doing stunts (since it would be a waste of gas to run any of them )

After that, one of my friends hopped in my car while I ran the cobalt.
First race was from 50, he got the jump but after about 5 seconds I was slowly putting car lengths on him. Second race was from 60, still shifting to second, I hooked real nice and didn't have any trouble getting ahead. We shutdown around 100 each time as there was traffic up ahead. We raced a few more times, with similar outcomes, one time it was pretty close as I was a little slow shifting (started thinking about getting home and bbq'ing).

Next day, I called my friend with a cbr600 (2004) and he showed up with his friend who had an 08 cbr600. Wow what a difference the fuel injection makes haha. First race from 60, I got the jump on both bikes but they quickly crept away. Second race I kept the 08' behind me for a few seconds then he flew by me (later on I found out he couldn't even hear the horn over my exhaust )

Got footage of most of this, going to make a video in a week or so, want to get some more races in with other cars.

The cobalt is pullied, with the stage 2 sc kit, and puts down close to 270 rwhp. I think he had about 600 lbs ish on me (200 lb passenger in my car + 60 lb sub)

Lastly, if I run that 04' cbr 600 again what speed would I have the greatest advantage at? I no nothing about bikes

My car: 99 ws6, cam, intake, ported tb, lid, slp headers, flowmaster cb, spec stage 3, richmond 4.10's.

your only chance against a bike is higher speed where the wind drag gives you the advantage: Sport bikes have from 1/2 to 2/3'rds the drag coefficient of a sports car. Not a problem below 120mph or so for the bigger bore bikes, but after that point they start to struggle. It's all relative though: you need some serious grunt to take out even a new WELL RIDDEN 600 supersport.

sounds like some good runs.. an 04 cbr600 is FI im sure, but the last 5 years have been so competitive that all the bikes have advanced by leaps and bounds.

if anyone ever wants to beat a 600, race me

Well said. Don't believe all these stories of mildly modded/bolt-on cars destroying 600s. Unless the bike had a 250lb rider that doesn't know how to shift its not gonna happen.

Your best bet is to start from as high a roll as they will accept...from a dig you'll get murdered unless you have some serious mods. FWIW my zx6r did high 10s bone stock down to the paper filter...bottom 10s after a $25 front sprocket and an exhaust/cat delete . I weigh 160 and have been riding dirt bikes and crotch rockets since I was 9 though .

They are nasty from a dig with a good rider, but from a 75 roll or so you have a much better chance.

nice kill and a very nice car you have but stage 2 cobalts arent impressive, try racing one with a few more bolt ons and set up correctlly with a aggressive tune and see what happends

P.S theres NO WAY IN HELL that cobalt put down 270WHP, my car put down 270whp last year and i know for a fact it would pull better then that

check out my video on here

camaro ss vs Ion Redline

Irrelevant.

Nice kill OP.
You're going to need quite a bit more to take on a newer 600.
