Default mustang kill with my ls4

So I just dropped my friend off at his girlfriends condo. Im making a left to go to the gas station and this mustang passes me and revs up. It was a 2005-08 body style. I knew he had an exhaust and probably some other mods, so I decide to take off and follow simply for the urge of some fun and I havent had a few runs in awhile.

Run 1- 40 roll- I jump a half car, then shift into 2nd, he pulls, i start reeling in, by 80 he is a car ahead and im gaining ground, we then shut down due to a car up ahead.

Run 2- Dig, both of us fighting for traction, he jumps a half car, i start pulling him back in, then we let off because we left from a stop sign and again, cars ahead.

Run 3- 35 roll, i pull about 3-4 car lengths, shift to 2nd, he gains back some ground, by the top of 2nd, im pulling again, we then shut down.

Run 4- 30 roll, same situation as run 3.

Run 5- 25 roll, same as runs 3 and 4.

Now when i say cars ahead, we were not racing in traffic, you all know when u start hitting towards 80mph car start coming up. I live kind of out in the country and this was on a 2 lane road with very few side streets.

I have a 2006 Monte Carlo SS, magnaflow exhaust, K&N intake.

His car was a 2005-08 Mustang GT auto, full exhaust, intake, and a tune. ~350hp to the wheels

Most seem to think that stock Mustang GTs are hard to beat, but i have only "lost" when we shut down while im reeling them back in. I feel if those races would have continued deep into 3rd gear, i would be ahead.

This really made me impressed with the car though.

Your story doesn't add up. In the beginning you said he had exhaust and probably some other mods. Then at the end you say he has full exhaust, intake and a tune and it makes 350 to the wheels. ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!! to make 350 to the wheels, just considering he had around 15% drivetrain loss, he would have to be making around 415 to the flywheel. No way that's gonna' happen with just those mods to a 05'-09' Mustang. I'm not saying you won or lost, because we all know what can happen on the street. But a stock 05'-09' Mustang is a mid-high 13 second car in the quarter mile. Your car stock at best is a low 14 second car in the quarter mile.

good kill.
From what i've seen, many ls4's are getting walked by newer gt's...

With those mods, the gt would be around 300rwhp mark or somewhere near. I see h/c gt's make 350rwhp

This reeks of . First you don't know the mods and then you do. The races from a roll range from him winning by a car to you winning by 3 or 4. I doubt those monsters you two were racing had traction issues at those speeds so the variance doesn't add up. But it is your story so tell it the way you want.

bahahaha wrong... i thought the ls4's were capable of high 13's stock? still sounds fishy to me.

Haha maybe he's posting from a gas stAtion on his phone right after the race n left out details.

Maybe the monkey in the stangs trunk threw out the dealer optioned boat anchor right after mustang's driver shifted to 2nd.

i said that he had exhaust and probably some other mods when i first saw it... we stopped to talk afterward and that when he said the whole intake, exhaust, and tune

he claimed 350 to the wheels.... im thinking 350 to the crank is the truth

and yea, these cars have hit low 13s with some good tires, from a roll, traction isnt an issue so you cant throw in the "well u have stock tires"

and about me jumping 3-4 cars ahead from those speeds... its all gearing, thats why he started to climb back as he was running thru his powerband

even IF it was a mid to low 14 second car, which it is not, it would be a good race considering fwd is much harder to get traction then a rwd car, thus make the difference of mid 13s to low 14s...

actually they are pretty damn close to ls1 cars, considering 0-60 on a ls1 is about .3 seconds quicker

Hmm.. not so sure about this one. If you did win, they guy driving the stang is a moron.

I'm in a freakin stock 02 GT and have no problems taking stock/bolton Monte Carlo SSs.

Idk about this my dad used to have an 06 GT with just catback and better wheels an tires and it would handily beat LS4 front drives, even off rolls and yes my dads was an auto. If he really had all the mods and a tune(which makes a huge difference for these cars) then he must have had the hand brake up or something.

A stock 05+ should easily beat a stock Monte SS. Even a modded one. I am calling shenanigans. Either that, or the stang driver in the OP's story can't drive.

And I am not saying that because I own a Mustang. I realize my stock 02 GT is slow. Especially compared to Fbodies made around the same time. I didn't buy my GT to be teh fastest around anyhow. I just wanted a peppy RWD car and didn't want to pay much for it. Just to mess with teh rice-boys.

Having said that, it will probably get a procharger soon.

.3 second is a lot more than you think. Especially if you're talking about 0-60, because that's not much length to actually spread a difference.

CAN YOU READ? If you can, you'll notice he didn't say that in the original post. As goes for you saying S197's are slow, 06' Monte Carlos are slower

Obviously you two boneheads lack some comprehension ability. I read the op's story and was able to figure it out the first time around. But not everyone is smart like me.
