son of a bitch, that thing hooks on the street! 3rd gens always were great at launching, but to pull a well launch Cobra like that out of the hole is damned impressive! Nice race and kill OP.
Being full weight, you must be pushing at least 450+rwhp right? I'm thinking 480-500 is probably closer to the truth. 126mph traps in a 3400 pound race weight car are no joke.

^what's funny is I will hear that in traffic once in a while LOL
What's up man....you are bringing your toy to gm vs ford on Jan 16th right
best dyno was 470 ...but it's just that a number. Dyno doesn't mean that much to me.
Now some funny things
26" tall nitto 555r (these are better on street than track)
stock 9 bolt rear from 89 turbo ta with 3.27 gear
trans has stall and shift kit other than that STOCK with 70k miles on it
and yea skinnies would be nice, it looks funny without them

nitto 555 or 555r? Never heard much good about the 555 nitto's compared to drag radials, but damned you sure seem to make them work. Any secrets you want to PM me that I can pass onto my brother for his '87 IROC? He's got all the suspension boltons available, best sixty so far is 1.82 on crappy GS-C stocker tires. Next week we are doing yet another head/cam upgrade which *should* put him around 400 to the wheels- almost 100 more than he currently has which will mean yet more suspension tweaking/upgrading...
Speaking of which: I never knew the turbo trans ams had 9" rears. I assumed they got the same rear as the T types/ GNX's. Cool info! IROCDave's been looking into a rear because his is on borrowed time already: do you know a place to get one of those turbo trans's rears? Is it a direct or close to direct bolt in? Thanks!

sorry edited it the 555r
all suspension bolt ons = waste of time and money
adjustable torque arm
Ill make you a list and pm you.....You WILL laugh when you read it though
but you see that it works
turbo ta's and some of the normal 3rd gens and 9 bolt rears
and yes direct bolt in only thing is when going from a stock drum brake to the 9 bolt with disc is you need e-brake cable
I was told to use brake components off the ta also but I did not and car drives fine

brothers IROC is a '87: it has 4 wheel disk brakes already. As far as the 9", I know some of the SLP Firehawk cars had 9"ers in them, but never heard of it on a stock production based cars.... something about GM putting a Ford rearend into there production cars just doesn't strike me as probable! lol
