Default Cobalt SS/Tc vs C4 Vette.....so its not a fluke!

The thread title may seem similar to a previous thread I started about my neighbor who I had a few runs with in his auto C4.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/street-ra...lt1-vette.html

So I'm driving to my next store to hit on the list. I'm in my suit, shades on, tunes playing and just cruising in the lovely weather; minding my own business and going the speed limit. That is until I see a shiny gray C4 up ahead on the nice straight 2 lane road I'm driving on. I tap the go-peddle a bit to subtly make up the distance between us since a light is coming up soon. Once I see past the pillar, I figure I am not going to get any action.......It is a gray haired 60'ish gramps just enjoying the weather.

Well, light turns red and I end up next to him. He looks overs and smirks at the well dressed 30'ish kid over in the shiny red lil 4-door listening to some damn ricken-fricken-racket on the stereo. We both nod like 2 established gentlemen do and look ahead in preparation for my *ahem* *** whuppin (in his mind).

On green....I launch at idle and get into boost quick with just a hint of spin. I ride out the spin so I can nail my NLS (which I do!) and I actually jump ahead! He stayed with me up till about 20mph where I have to nail 2nd, after which I pull about a car thru 60 when i nail 3rd which has me pullin another car on him. I saw him let off so I did the same. (woulda only got worse for him

I roll the window down and throw a thumb up out the window, I see him do the same thru my rear view.

What was most disappointing is he never got close enough to my rear to see what he just lost to......for future reference of course

Kinda makes me wanna race one that has some good mods to it. Although my next mods will include "happy gas" I could run one off bottle.

Nice kill, what's that stage one run? I haven't done much to my C4 but it's not a slow car, keeps up with stock C5s. I always loved the 4 door sedans of death (my personal fav being the CTS-V) lol

well i suck a life!
the track was not kind to me. i pulled better 0-60 on the street then at the track (g-tec)

2.4 sixty footers gave me a best ET of 14.0 with best trap 105.1
wheel hoppin all thru 1-2

boost is not kind on the sticky track for the FWD.
but again, i suck at life. a stock tc was runnin 13.8 @ 102 the same day i was there.
lil bastard!

sounds like youre getting better at luanching and shifting the lil ******. good kill! i love the sedan so much more than the coupe. and you need to throw some more money at the little red rocket. make it a good race for that orange thing and youll have an fbody to race! problem solved! (except for digs, but you know this)

but you are indeed an ******* for ruining gramps' day with his badass Corvette. at least he was cool about it

Very nice, man! I figured the ET wouldn't be miraculous, but over 105 mph is badass. Do they make a decent drag radial for the car to get it to hook somewhat? Even a 2.0 60' would do wonders for the ET.

Do you have any more plans for it or are you satisifed with the current performance?

thanx!
hahaha and that trap and ET is with me never avoiding the hop and missin the NLS into 2nd.....which explain why i pull fastecars on the street. it doesnt happen in the street so i dont drop boost in the 1-2.

softer tires help but i also need some motor mounts. that would do the trick.
i may just do those and be done with it.

i am pretty satisfied with her as a DD. i wish i had a better slip to brag about but i know what she can do so im trying to deal with it without counseling

and ms hugger is preggo so igot to be good for a bit
