Eagerly waits with pen and pencil ready for explanation.

I was responding to sarahgto saying that "The ls3 blah blah will make 500 with a cam only, lets see a 5.0 do that.
And I said that the 4v motors do not respond well to cam only aplications.
So the numbers you posted claiming numbers with intakes that have been touched are void.
Cam only dude, cam only. All I was talking about.

I hope so. Hell, I hope it does run that well for the ones that bought it.
I have a stock 03Z06. COMPLETELY stock. My best run has been a 12.65@115.8. That's with 315s out back. There is no way a 5.0, that ways over 500lb more and just 20rwhp more can run the same time in stock trim with 235s or 245s out back.

I think it's pretty funny that people think the 2011 GT will do mid 12's out of the box. With slicks and that mph, yes maybe. On the stock 235's, ARE YOU GUYS ON CRACK!? I own an S197. The BEST and I mean BEST ON A PERFECT DAY I could do with my stock tires was a 13.58 with a 2.0 60ft. If I gave it any RPM those suckers would break loose. My bro has a 405 WHP S197 and he does 12.4 @ 110 mph with slicks and a 1.7-1.8 60ft. I call BIG BS on mid 12's on the 2011. Some people just don't understand the physics of racing!

No but I thought someone else said it could do a 12.6 somewhere in these 9 pages of BSing.
I clearly said it was possibly with slicks and that mph for mid 12's. But there are people saying it can be done on the stock 235's! And honestly I don't know of many cars that will run in the 11's with a 112 trap speed. I'm sure it can be done, but you would need a killer 60ft. As for my bro, he can drive just fine. Even if he got his 60ft to a 1.6, thats 2/10ths off the ET which brings him to a 12.2 or so. And he puts more to the wheels than a new GT.
You know, not to bash anyone, but for an LSx forum, there sure as hell are a shitload of mustang fanboys on here. Hell, I own one but I signed up on this forum to talk about LSx engines, not hear mustang guys trying to bash us every chance they get. There are forums for stangs too, just as an FYI.
End of my diarea of the mouth session.

wow i quit this discussion. you guys have blinders that ONLY losing at the track will take off. its ok. 112mph cant get into 12's. neither can a 2010SS. none of them are running 12's. because they have a 110mph trap. there are no 12 second SS's out there.

There's quite a few cam only LS3's at 500rwhp. Unless you're an idiot you know that means with a good intake/exhaust/tune.
P.S. Not sure why that matters anyway......haha
Glad you quit, this makes no sense at all (unless this was intentional). They both are capable of high 12's

So as you can see by my post count since SR&K doesn't account for posts I'm usually in the drag race section helping out LS1 guys with general questions about drag racing that can apply to both platforms (tires, gears, safety equipment, suspension geometry and settings, linelocks, etc.)
So I will probably add more to this site that you ever will. No offense.

Assasinator, i dont buy anthing you say because we just heard from you that a 4 valve with suporting mods CAM ONLY (99) made up to 500 rwhp. Thats BS im sorry to say it is. You can run a low trap and break 11s My friend hit 11.70s @ 107 in his T/A 396 3spd tranny 411 on 26" slicks needed more gear but still trap 107. 1/4 mile depends mostly on your 0 to 60 ft. lol if it wasnt for that where would mustangs be lol was a joke ..jk

If you trap high like 111- 119 for example yeah could be in the 11s but maybe in the 12s if it dosnt have a good 0 to 60 ft. Alot of factors come into play mostley wheel hop and traction issues. Car can have 300rwhp and break 12s easy. I thought z06 c6 trap like around 123 at the end of the 1/4 last time i check
