Default 550i vs Foxbody.

89 Foxbody- Stock Manifolds, O/R H-pipe, Flowmasters, Cold air intake, 3.73's, 3500 Stall.

07ish 550i- Stock, i presume.

The other day i was driving back home from NAPA, and i see a BMW with tinted Tail-lights, Tinted Windows, and it was dropped a little bit. So i figured i have never raced anyone in my new fox so why not let the first be a beemer. I start following the BMW through traffic, the driver sees me and starts weaving, then they go into the turn lane so i follow. I get in the outside lane and they get stuck behind a car on the inside lane. SO i move over in front of that car hoping they would come up next to me at the RED light and they did... I look over and see that its a girl driving with her bf next to her. So they start laughing and talking (i know they were talking about me) so i said **** it, i started to stall it a little. I got to about 2k rpms and the light changed so i took off and so did they. There was a school bus that was about 150 yards ahead, I had about 1-1/2 lengths so i cut over and passed the bus. Then i pulled another 2 lenghts i'd say maybe a little less, so i let off. It was fun. Does anyone know if they are suppose to be fast, cause my foxbody isnt too fast.

For a second you threw me off with the school bus part lol because if you give someone a real ***-kickin' you say you beat 'em by BUS LENGTHS. Good kill, regardless if they're fast or not, it's a-MA-zing the difference some mods do on 5.0s. H/C/I and you will swear there's no way it's the same car, lol.

oh I didnt even think about the "bus lenghts" analogy, but yeah there was literally a bus in front of me haha. I had a notchback last summer, Cammed, intake mani, Full Exhuast, Etc... I just picked this one up so i can build it the way i want it, I'm thinking Trick Flow Top end kit?

Nice kill! I'm sure those beemers are no slouches either. The chick driving thing could have been maybe why you put an ***-whoopin on it, no offense to any ladies here! Still a nice kill none-the-less.

Put an LS1 in it! I have a freind with a fox that is seriously thinking about a 6.0 swap in his. It's kind of a slap in the face to ford guys but hey, your not going to go that fast for that cheap and with that much driveability with a ford engine in there! Best of luck to ya.

I think it was a paddle shifter, haha. & NAHHHHHH, I'll build this one to run high 12's low 13's and then in a couple years when insurance goes down, I'LL GET AN LS1

My brother ran one on his 302 for a long time, 3 years Daily Driver and LOVED IT, it ripped for sure. Get the Track Heat intake, not the Street Heat. I guess StopSign had a bad experience with the kit or something? 20 bucks says he will tell you to stroke it

You can go faster for the same price or cheaper. That is a good kit if you are lazy though.

Both are shitty intakes. Ed Curtis found a flaw in the casting of them a while back. Trickflow never fixed this "problem" that I am aware of.

The TFS heads have crappy valve springs too.
My vote is an Ed Curtis cam,AFR 165s and a Holley intake-perfect for a blower down the road too!

So you can drop $3-4K on a bad *** heads cam 6.0 LSx that should still get decent mileage and reliability or $8-10K on the new 5.0 for about the same performance. Your call. Personally I like going fast for cheap!

It would be pretty bad *** if someone did swap the new 5.0 into a fox body or older stang but I am SURE that motor will not be cheap unless those stangs start selling, and crashing like hotcakes.
