Stock C5 beats 700hp Supra! *VIDEO*
#6
he can drive it just fine..it's common knowledge that 90% of the time a 700 HP supra is a 12.8 car..sure it will hit 130 mph but still run the high 12..that C5 with intake/exhaust is a 12.8 at 110 mph car..
So it makes perfect sense that at the 1/4 mile mark they were pretty much dead even..
Now from a roll were the supra could already be in second or third gear and just hold his foot to the floor..Man from a 50 mph start and by 130 mph the supra would be a few buses ahead of that vette

trust me I am in a never ending debate with my supra buddies over this..
i mean if a v8 or v10 has 200 more rwhp above the supra from 2000-4500 rpm's and the supra has 200 more rwhp than the v8 or v10 from 4500-7000..
And they both get from point A to point B at the same time..then arent they the same???

Thats what I would think.....but yes I love seeing these 500-600 hp Supra's at the track b/c everyones all like damn this guy gonna run hella fast. But b/c he has that big as turbo it takes him half the track to spool it up. But usually the guys owning these Supra's don't set them up for the track. And they just show impressive number on the dyno.

Sorry, but the settup on the Supra was useless. It got it *** handed to it by a basicaly stock C5 Corvette in the 1/4 mile. I dont dont doubt it made the RWHP, but....it had a power range of a modern deisel engine. If I owned the Supra I would be friggin embaressed to see this vid on the internet. But, he gets what is coming to him, dyno #'s do not equate to street racing wins.

Yea...man..Im really just starting to belieave more and more that they just arent that fast..especially from a dig..
i beat my buddies from a dig to 110 mph and i was in a 470 rwhp viper and he was 700 or 800 rwhp that day in his supra..he did beat me by a car length on the second run though..
Then i raced another one that same day that was around 600 rwhp and I beat him like 6 times in a row and each time by 3-4 mengths..
At the time he said it had a boost leak and I belieaved him..But after watching these vids and seeing just how close my frinds 800 rwhp one was to my viper from a stop im inclined to belieave that it just takes a lot for them to really move out in the 1/4...
I mean really....If this vid was a 700 HP Viper or 700 HP LS1 or 700 HP Z06 or 700 HP mustang or GTR or any other car you can think of that is 700 HP..
THEN THERE IS NO WAY THE 320 RWHP INTAKE/EXHAUST VETTE WOULD WIN
i dont care if the vette had a 1.8 60 foot and ran a 12.7 at 112 mph and was nearly flawless in every way..that 700 HP car would run a high 11 or low 12 with a 2.5 60 foot granny shifting at 130-135 plus mph...
BUT IN A SUPRA..FOR WHAT EVER REASON IT IS NOT UNCOMMON TO SEE VIDS LIKE THIS...IF I WAS A SUPRA OWNER I WOULD FORBID THIS GUY FROM RACEING ANYONE AGAIN UNTIL HE GETS A TWO STEP OR LEARNS TO ONLY GO FROM A ROLL

Wish I could see it: the stupid forum locks my internet explorer up every time I try to access it. My work laptop runs the old internet explorer 5.0 which doesnt work with lots of pages...
Can someone link the video to this page?
