Default 01 WS6 vs Supercharged M3

EDIT: Old thread I know, but I found a video for it. Not the best, but I'm bored and it was worth posting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uA4lEFKTAY

Don't get too excited it was an E36 M3, but it was still pretty quick. It was my buddies car and he just got it, and I had been wanting to run him.

My car is an 01 WS6 M6 with just a Lid and cat-back. His car was a 97 M3 5 speed with a Vortech, Dinan tune, and an intake. He claims around 340hp at the crank. Not sure what psi he was running.

But anyways we went from first gear, 20mph roll, 3 honks and we were off. I pulled out front pretty quick, and just kept pulling steadily. By 100mph I had about 1.5 cars on him, and then I let off. It was a fun race, I actually thought I was going to lose before. We're going to do it again when he gets exhaust and a different pulley, hopefully i'll have LT's by that time . Thanks for reading!

Lol yea that guy on BAR didn't know anything. This car is pretty quick though, but he's still running completely stock exhaust, needless to say...he got a full face of LS1.

Yea definitely not, I really want to run him again though when he pumps it up some more. I need some LT's though, I'm bored with the power I have. I just don't really have the extra cash right now

He might get you on a tight roadcourse. local guy has the same car but different brand s/c. He destroys in autox but sucks on the strip. He is also on his 3rd engine since he just keeps using stock shortblocks

What supercharger kit? Do you know what boost he was pushing.

You can turbo an E36 M3 and run a reliable 500whp (with stock internals) in just over a 3000lb car with the right mods.

They actually do, but it isn't very common. Most M3 owners don't dig race.

With a little weight reduction (200lbs or so) some of the bolt-on E36s are in the high 12s with traps in the 105-107 range. E36s usually make 235-240whp with all the bolt ons/tune, and weigh 3100 or so.

I know of one that's completely gutted, just bolt ons and DRs and he runs low 12s @ 112 or so, but that is only because of the 600lbs weight reduction.

The day I see one at the track do low 13s or even 13s is the day I will believe that. How's a bolt on m3 suppose to do low 13s if this s/cd one couldn't beat a stock ls1 that will prolly do mid 13s.
O and that same m3 lost to a type r from a dig that intake and header

So that m3, or its driver, sucks.

Here's a full bolt on / tune car, 3100lbs with driver. This is an exceptionally quick pass for a stock motor M3, but you get the point.

Edit: It might have cams, which are good for about 15whp. I'm not sure an all stock N/A motor will trap 110 even in the best conditions.

12.6 @ 110

Here's a typical one. 13.3 @ 104

Somehow the E92 M in the next lane only trapped 105...i don't know how it's even possible to go that slow in a car that drives itself. Maybe the DA was high...who knows.

You can't base what a car will run off of a street race.

It raced like 6times that night why not...didn't look like traction was an issue. That car is prolly a mid 13sec car as it sat right then
