Good runs, I wonder how the WS6(w/o heat soak and stock wheels) would have done from a roll vs. a M6 5.0 Trac Pack. Or Niterider v. Manny for comparison's sake.

Maybe from a dig while the C5 Z gets traction, but from a roll, I doubt it.

They are pretty evenly matched with an ls3 camaro and the 5.0 has an edge.
Agreed, C5Z06's put down similar power to the new 5.0 but are a few hundred lbs. lighter plus better aerodynamics and aggressive gearing as well.

For sure man, we should run so we can see how our cars compare since we have both run auto 5.0's. I have 2 more mods then you but I think it will be close. Maybe we can talk the 5.0 guy you know into joining us for a run

Kind of irrelevant to everything that has been talked about in this thread but out of complete curiosity whats the record for a naturally aspirated stock bottom end heads and cam mustang from 1998-2011?

Kevin you're going to get all kinds of "but, what, if, when, it's!!!!" responses like always...followed by comparisons to other cars...same old story, same old song and dance.

GT has the advantage off a dig with the camaro. Light weight and good gearing, camaro is a pig and that's so sad. I think roll races are more even for both these cars.

Sooo, does that mean you are getting out of this thread?

I'm confused: If I email you that the stupid left, isn't that kind of counterproductive?

Stopsign, if you are meaning me, then yet again, you missed my simple point. I said, yet again for the reading impaired, the 5.0 should be compared to the 5thGen SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONES COMPETING WITH EACH OTHER AND OF SAME YEARS. I too feel the LS1 being constantly compared to the 5.0, which is all you see here lately, is useless as it's a 13 year old engine. Yet, the fact that the LS1 can compete(with 5.0 adn 5thG) is something to be admired. NEVER have I said the 5thG was faster or better. In fact, if you go back and reread my posts, I stated the 5.0 had the edge, not just dig, not just roll. It had the edge period. Now, we are clear now?

Bone stock VS bone stock on AVERAGE? Yes, they are actually a pretty decent race. M6/M6 from a roll isn't a murder... 30-120 the Cobra should be out about 2 or so lengths, not hardly a "raping" by any means.

From a dig it is actually a pretty close race on average, Cobra has a SMALL advantage... Mostly thanks to its IRS making it more difficult for most people to launch.

Cobra definitely has the advantage... But I have seen some VERY close stock/stock roll races as well as digs going both ways.

If you are talking about Evan Smith being behind the wheel in both then excuse me... I don't live in that world.

Dude, my wife watched the vids and said "That's sad..."

The Camaro needs to be 3500 lbs, nothing more-

+1000

I had a completely stock 2001 WS6 that went 12.82 @ 110 mph. Stock tires, airbox, exhaust, everything. That was the last run and every run was faster. I would have bet money it would have went 12.70s. With bigs and littles and stickies and a lid and tune I know it would have went low 12s. As a matter of fact there is a guy local who has gone 11s in an untouched motored LS1 car, he might have headers but i think they are stock too. The new 5.0 and a LS1 f body are so close one driver error will make the outcome one way or the other. I do agree the new 5.0 as the slight advantage, with 10+ years of technology it should.

Thats impressive for sure! I didn't know the ls f-bodies were that quick stock. It all depends on the driver I know. I retract my previous statement!

It surprised the ehll out of me for sure. First time driving a manual down the track it went 13.3 @ 108 mph. I think the f body stock record is 12.7? Not too sure though.

Seriously props to Ford for making an N/A motor that runs like it does! Glad my LS2 had issues and was stroked to a 402 before they did.
