Looks to me like the Shelby left hard then let off the throttle and cruised. Watched it 3 times and doesn't seem like he was racing much after he took off.

The vette let off at 80 with the shelby still pulling away... looks like he gave up after that. I always wanted to race my buddy in his 08 GT500 but he was having none of it unless I dressed my car out like nightrider
