All GTOs suck except for ones owned by my friends........ LOL
Seriously though, I remember project "Head Poncho" in GM High Tech. It was an LS2 goat. The full bolt-on setup consisted of stall, drag radials, headers, exhaust, cold air intake, underdrive pulley... It went 12.2 at 110mph. I can't remember if it had a Fast intake at that time or if they waited till the heads and cam.... I think they waited. With the TrickFlow heads, cam, and intake added it went 11.3 at 119 after frying and replacing a low mileage 4l60.
We are planning a Magnacharger install for Lee Zaunbrecher's LS1 GTO very soon at my shop. Hopefully we will beat the heads/cam time that the Head Poncho car put down.

in all seriousness if you did go 13.0 i would be amazed since the full bold on version was only 8 tenths faster than you but with the same MPH

Lots of bone stock GTOs int he 12s. Throw on headers tune and a decent tire and they have been in the 11s, frequently.

So keep going off your -2000 DA 5.0 times thinking they are the norm because you couldn't be more wrong and it makes me smile.

Pulled from the list on ls2gto.com. Not one under that but the whole damn list is faster than mid 13s. And whats the fastest time again? What mid 12s. No way a heavy underpowered car ran that.

Seems like one magazine tested an LS2 goat at 12.9 in the quarter mile stock. A friend of mine with a tune only LS2 A4 Goat ran with us several times last year at Twin City Dragway in Monroe. I saw him run mid 13s on average and dipped down to 13.2 in one race. Yes his car is capable of 12s (and no, it was not faster than my tune/intake SRT8 Charger heh heh). The truth is that temperature, humidity, and elevation play a huge role in ETs.
FYI: I have also heard of SRT8 300s running around a 12.6 - 12.7 stock but that is not the norm at all.
DA can easily rob/add 40 + rear wheel horsepower depending on conditions

here but i guess these guys cant drive since i mean thats what they do for a living. I know how you hate reading so here ill cut the part out for you...
"Evan Smith was the first driver of the GTO and would ultimately run the low e.t. of the day for it. Beginning at 13.8 on a shakedown run to learn the characteristics of the car, the second pass dropped to 13.65 and on the third 13.52. After the 3 back-to-back passes, the Pontiac was parked for a cooldown."

Hi! Heard of weather and altitude? Cause they change! No honestly! They do! Guess what?!?! They also both affect how cars run! Significantly! Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ!
So keep going off your -2000 DA 5.0 times thinking they are the norm because you couldn't be more wrong and it makes me smile.
