The truth is that temperature, humidity, and elevation play a huge role in ETs.

FYI: I have also heard of SRT8 300s running around a 12.6 - 12.7 stock but that is not the norm at all.

DA can easily rob/add 40 + rear wheel horsepower depending on conditions
ever do a corrected DA on his car to 0 and see what i would correct to?

I don't know the guy that made those claims but my 12.8 time was run in
+ 600 DA and we sometimes get -2000' at our track in early spring and late fall.

i would race you with mine i have a cai, x pipe and a tune. I only run low 13's and my car without me in it weighs 3620, even mine is a little bit fat. I have the bottle on the car but i wouldnt use it.

I still havent found any solid proof of a stock weight and stock un modded gto ( any year ) breaking past 13.3.

i bet with the -2000 the srt8 would go easy 12.5-6 if the stock tires could hold the extra power

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but the results were posted bright and clear in this thread, MANY GTO's have ran in the 12's STOCK UNMODIFIED.

and as i have said before i dont care what that "list" says, too many people modify the weight of cars and components to get on those list. Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see. The best source for stock comparisons is magazines IMO.

Jesus Bubba, whats your deal man? I'm a regular on the GTO forums, and I also know a couple of those guys on the Fast List: I've seen there cars, driven in there cars, and they are legit. The GTO forums are probably twice as reliable as most forums due to the age factor: Most GTO owners are older gearheads who corral the BS and ignorance from littering there threads. They call BS on each other faster than they call it on outsiders when outrageous claims are made.

You are wrong, pure and simple. Hell, my car ran 13.4 bonestock in 2000' DA weather. 12.9 with headers/cai/tune in a tad higher DA. And for what it's worth: there was 6 SRT8 Challenger/Chargers at the drags when I ran my times. Besides the 800hp (I know it was 800hp because it said it in big letters on the side of his car in vinyl graphics) that ran high 11's, the rest of them were mid-high 13's. Best of those was tune/cai/exhaust/Nitto 555R's who matched my stock time of 13.4 @109.

Wish you were local....

And for the record: Interiors are a intensely personal like/dislike I've found. I've driven the Charger, 5.0, 2011 Camaro, GTO, LS1 Fbody Camaro, 03 GT.... and hands down I like the GTO interior the best. Amazing fit n finish, great material choices, sedate modern styling reminiscient of the best that German every came up with. Just wish it had a nav screen, too.

BUT, like I said before, it's kinda like asking a guy what girl is hotter than another:: you'll never agree, or be able to explain exactly WHY you feel that way.

God Bubba is a complete idiot. "Hey heres proof of X" Sorry I dont believe it anyone can say anything"

Funny that you think a 425 HP 4100 pound car is SOO much faster than a 3700 pound 400 hp car. It is quite comical and your ignorance is giving me quite a laugh. I really wish you were closer so I could put 10 buslengths on you but you'd probably back out.

The best source is magazines?? WTF

Just look at what they said the c6 z06 et in the 1/4....11.6-11.7 @ 123.6 mph according to your pals at motortrend.

Tell me how the ***** is it when you put a GOOD driver in the same STOCK Z06 you shave half a second off that? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQdR3WV9tLk

This guy would have loved to run an 11.7 (that's me in the TA against him). He had street tires and was bone stock.

ranger is the best vette driver, most run mid to high 11s stock.

I saw a stock 5.0 run 13.6 with a 2.6 60" at the track the other night. I believe his best for the night was a 13.4. This is bone stock and not a great track surface. I only pulled off a 1.9 60' on mickeys spinning 2nd that night, though I haven't been out again so I cant compare to anything. On stock tires its all driver and surface... I'm not arguing that the 5.0 is faster than a gto or vice versa, just what I saw.

Just sayin', I wouldn't quote that when I was trying to defend LS2 GTOs.

YOU MUST HAVE BEEN THE FIRST GUY TO BY THE "TORNADO" SINCE MAGAZINES SAID IT IMPROVED HP HUH?
