Default 625hp KB Cobra/540bbc 3rd gen/403ls SS

After I got tuned I raced a couple people and my friend made the videos
Car has 403ci head/cam all bolt ons, m6, dana 60 with 4.10s
Both videos are from 50rolls

3rd gen camaro has 540bbc T56 9inch with 3.73s

I noticed when racing my clutch would slip every gear I went into but found out my foot was not letting release all the way causing to slipp a bit so the day after I adjusted it and shifts good with out slip but its turned into a habit of resting my foot on the clutch

Those cars are crazy! I bet that big block third gen puts out alot of torque! The intro for the Camaro and Cobra is the ish! That Cobra and Camaro run is definitely a drivers race!

That was one hell of an even race in the 2nd vid, although the intro was . I'm suprised the turd gen didnt run a little harder.

I think the T56 killedem. He really needs a stalled th400 to get all his torque to the ground.

good races.Probably not the smartest thing 2 show license plate in video with street racing going on.maybe I'm being a pu..y but that seems like a bad idea.either way cool video with even cooler cars, keep em coming.

My buddy who owns the cobra told my friend not to get his plate but for him saying that he busted his ***** we have a few other vids with **** like that in it been up for years.

As for the 3rd gen it must have a boat load of tq and the th400 probably would be best for the car.

The cobra owner drives the ***** off of it all day everyday when racing he is one of the quickest shifters of the crew next to another friend of mine who has shifted faster than my friends performabuilt 4l60e beliveve it or not lol ill say I'm am not the greatest at fast shifting that's why I need a lot of power to make up for slow shifting I'm getting better though

We might have a rematch race when he's on 93 octane and like 18 or so psi in the day time so we can see what's going on lol

Thanks guys^

Here is the self-proclaimed (with a few others claiming it also) fastest shifter in upstate SC.

you will probably get some **** like, "that cobra had something wrong with it, there is no way a car with 105hp and 100lbs tq less will beat or stick up to a cobra if thats the hp he's putting down..."

You did seem to fall back a tad between shifts.

That cobra driver was driven the ***** out of it, no delay between shifts keeps that ****** movin.

love the third gen!

one question, how can a car with over 100 more hp get beaten like that? I mean if you put a 350rwhp ls1 against a 450rwhp ls1, its pure murder, but in a case like this, the car with a 100 hp more stays almost dead even...

Different types of dyno on different days. Dynoing with a manual tranny vs. an automatic - I don't know if the camaro was an auto, but autos dyno much lower numbers for some reason than their track times and trap speeds would indicate. For example, two nearly identical combos consisting of a 331c.i. SBF with identical turbo chargers (rated at 1200 max) had significantly different dynos. The combo with a T56 made 1017rwhp. The combo with the TH400 made 860rwhp. Care to guess which one was quicker and faster? It wasn't the one that showed 150rwhp more on the dyno. The TH400 combo went 8.79@154 mph. The best trap speed from the T56 was 140mph.

Were the cars on the exact tune that they were on when dynoed? My car dynoed 762rwhp, but is unlikely to see a street race at that power level because it would never hook up. So, when I back the boost off, I'm sure someone racing it would list it as a 762rwhp mustang even if the race takes place with less than 600rwhp.

Those that have gone from 300rwhp to 400 rwhp know the struggle to keep the tires planted. Once you go over 600rwhp, traction extremely difficult... So most guys end up backing off their tune a little.

There's probably a decently sized difference in weight, too. I believe the Cobras are 1-2 hundred lbs heavier to begin with, and maybe the camaro has been lightened. Everything added together, and I'll bet actual power/weight comes out nearly even between these two vehicles.

4th gen ist56, 3rd gen is t56 and the cobra is also t56

Weight could also be an issue too but I'm around 3700 with me in it cage and iron block dana 60. 3rd gen had a bbc 9inch and cage the cobra is a convertable stock no added weight except a bigger blower headers slp catback no cats. I was dyno'd on a mustang dyno the cobra was on a dynapack or something like that bolts to the hubs with out wheels.

When I had my stock h/c/I motor I made 455rwhp and raced a hardtop cobra with 18psi on stock eaton making 520-530 he got out on me on a dig but I was reeling him in like no tomorow.

Here's the cobra on the dyno

Here is my other friends 4.0 whipple auto cobra hardtop best was 9.90 @ 140mph messing around but once he knew he could beat me he stopped.
