Default Bolt-on Z28 vs 3000 GT

MMOB coming home from work today. Stopped at a red light in the middle of town. Ten feet from the court house. Look over and see a clean red 3000 GT. I saw a pillar and flashing lights and figure it was worth a go if we had a better location. We did like a half assed roll from 40 ish and i walked him. So, we met up later on to go from a dig. I'm thinking Im gonna walk this guy by a mile. I show up to find out it is AWD TT. Yeah I got walked by a bus the first run, and the second run by 1.5 cars. Oh yeah I had a passenger. His buddy flagged. It was cold as a coal miners *** so i couldnt kick my friend out of the car.

Definitely don't need FI to beat that car. A cam will suffice for a good beat down.

So it was a 3000 GT VR4, those cars can be nasty when they are built they are pretty rare.

Yeah it was a nice clean VR4. I wasnt upset. I just finished my 1.5 year rebuild so I am still lousy from a dig. Gotta get used to that torque. The first run from a dig I ignited the tires and the race was over before I figured out how to catch traction. That is why the second run was much closer.

Good runs. My brother is full bolt ons and just raced a VR4 as well. He would get yanked out of the hole but catch the guy and put some car lengths on him by the quarter mile we have marked out. I'll post up the vids when I get home tonight.

Found it...

In car view...no need to watch after the race is over, just my brother turning around and going back to the line...

Wish I had some vids of our runs. We were no where near a 1/4 mile. We ran out of room right after going to fourth gear.

Did I miss something? You are just a bolton car, yet it took you 1.5 years of your car being down during the "build"?

Also, you might want to remove "Driver Mod" from your list of mods- seriously. Letting a near stock VR4 kick your *** is just embarrassing.

Rebuild. Rings, bearings, seals, New cam, lifters, oil pump. That rebuild. I just used the extra money to get the boltons. My apologies, I will remove that from my sig.

Props for posting a loss OP.

I'd never dig race with a 3000 GT VR4. To put a clutch in most cars involves a buddy, a case of beer and a few hours in the garage. A VR-4 is basically a weekend of pain, misery, and bloodshed. To get anyone to help you with it would probably involve bribes with hookers and blow. Even many mitsu dealers refuse to replace clutches in those things, and the ones that will do it want like $1200 in labor alone.
