Speaking about the Mach going to 7k, yes, yes it will. No point though as it only makes power to about 6k, and yes we do own one. Now of corse just like everything else once you mod it you can get power to 7k and beyond. BTW after market heads for the Mach are realllly F'n expensive lol.
A stock 5spd Manual Mach will make power well above 6k smart guy.

Not in stock form. Not with a tune even. Besides that, if it does, why does it run slower times and mph shifting above 6,000? Hmmmmm? Before some one says, well could be this or that or maybe it's just not taken care of. Riiight whatever.

Wait a min. Had to edit my own post. Ok so it may make power to 7,000, but it's not useable by any means.

Sorry dude..but it does! I have my Interceptor shift light set at 6300 rpms for my shifts. The MACH still makes power a little over that. Ask anyone with a MACH. You shift at approx 6200-6400 rpms. Remember, it is an over cam motor with a small displacement. It is meant to rev.
BTW, I would not shift at this RPM if it would not get me the best ETs and traps possible. I know my MACH pretty good and I know where it makes power to.

What's up man..I have not been on the mach1registry in about a couple of weeks. Since they do not condone street racing (which I can understand) they do not have a "Kill" Section. I have been hanging around here and SVTperformance. Great place for technical information though!

The power starts to drop off around 6k, so why would you want to shift any higher than that?

Depending on the characteristics of the motor, you don't always shift AT power peak. DOHC cars you generally shift slightly above power peak, because the car is still making enough power to make it worth it.

So you land back in peak power in the next gear. I think where he state he shifted at 6.3 is perfect.

Well the other guy was making it sound like they made more power to almost 7k, which they definitely don't. Shifting at 6200-6300 sounds fine but 7k would definitely be overkill.

I stated that they rev to almost 7K...It redlines at 6800.
Since the power does not drop off, most MACH owners shift somewhere between 6200 and 6400.

As a matter of fact, the MSD shift light has the capabilitiy of programming multiple shift point. I have seen many people on the MACH1registy use this feature. From 1st to second they will shift at a higher rpm. Then every shift after, they lower it by approx 200 rpms.

I never lost to a Mach with my 01 TA vert. I'm sure there were a few that were faster but I never found one. It was just a LS6 swap with bolt ons with some suspension stuff. Stir, stir, stir. LOL
