Default 95 Trans Am v. 2003? Mustang Mach 1

So I'm driving the Trans Am bringing my friend back to OKC from Norman after the OU game, its about 2 A.M. on Sooner road on the west side of Tinker AFB. I pass the railroad tracks by I-240 and continue north where out of my mirror comes a 2003 White Mustang Mach 1. I wasn't planning on racing at the moment but he flies by me at 59th street going about 60mph (Speed limit is 45 and I am just cruising at 50). As we pull up to 44th street the light turns red and stops the mustang, I pull up about 1/4 of a car beside him and he looked like a high school kid with more money than brains. He looks to the left and gives me "the look", I took this as a challenge so I tell my friend "all right, its on." The light turns green and I let the clutch out slowly before jamming the gas to the floorboard. With the gas on the floor I go through 2nd, 3rd and by 4th gear I was outrunning the mustang by about 3 car lengths at 90 mph. By this point, my friend is cracking up laughing about the whole thing, and for some reason at the exact same time, someone on the CB was laughing about it too. I turned right on 29th street and headed towards Midwest city to drop off my friend, the Mustang did not follow. I had no mods, just factory Ram Air, a factory 6 speed Hurst shifter, and a 400 pound fat man in the right seat.

Sounds like a fun time, but prolly not a mach 1. The ls1 vs the mach1 can be a drivers race, soooo an lt1 prolly shouldnt hold...

I know that he CLAIMED to be a mach 1, he had the decals but I cannot confirm that he was a true mach 1. I might have caught him off guard or he might have pussed out.

Good kill. I don't see why people keep saying it's a drivers race with the mach and an LS1. It's not! I've spanked so many like nothing. Even my friends with LT1's spank them. Not saying they are slow but it's just not a good match with the LS1. I think a slightly modded LT1 would be a great race for the mach one. Plus isn't a mach1 rated at 305hp? And the ram air at 305? WAIT!! it's a 95 TA? They didn't come ram air until 97 again... Double check, u must have an aftermarket hood that was put on by a previous owner... So now I'm doubtful about being a true mach1. Maybe a clone mach1. Why? Because OP barely knows what he is driving. :/

Ok, to clear up the detail about the ram air hood, while I do not question your opinion, I believe that it was installed with ram air from the factory because the autocheck report on my car confirms this. I wish I could give a pic but I am unable to at this time. T/As started coming with ram air in 1996 (might have been a typo). So either my car was one of the first to get a ram air system or it is very possible that it was installed by a previous owner I can neither confirm nor deny either way. I also forgot to mention that I do have a Borla Catback if that makes any difference.

And Ram Air adds 1 HP. Your point on it is? An Lt1 is an Lt1.....

Well at least you know he probably wasn't racing. Might be more believeable if you didn't have a 400lb passenger with you.

Dynos are dynos. One can read 800 rwhp and the next 200 rwhp. My LT1 dynoed 256 rwhp btw and my 01 LS1 on the same dyno made 326 rwhp.

So basically your saying a stock LT1 air box flows just as good as a SLP WS6 style intake?

OK.

I could believe it if it was a stock auto. Or maybe he just spun really bad. That's what happened when I ran WSSick. A win is a win.
