I Thought for sure he would run me down on the roll race but even he said he wasnt gaining any ground.

5.0L (302.15 cu.in)
Horsepower (SAE net @ rpm) Regular Fuel: 402 @ 6.500, Premium Fuel: 412 @ 6,500
Torque (lb.-ft. @ rpm) Regular Fuel: 377@4250, Premium Fuel: 390 @ 4,250
But hey... I wouldn't necessarily say regular decreases it... I'd perhaps say premium increases it!

Nice kill. Any track times? Weight ftw. A stock auto will put out close to your hp but im sure your car weighs several hundred lbs less. I've been looking for a bolton ls1 to run in mine but havent had any luck yet.

I should actually be heavier then stock since i got pretty heavy rims and tires, SFC's, STB, heavier sway bars as well but not by a whole lot. Funny thing was a week before i saw a 5.0 stang on the freeway and i avoided doing anything since i thought it would destroy my car. I still think its hella fast, even it being an auto and i would have some serious issues keeping up with a manual. Then again next time i will pop the clutch and shift more aggressive going into 4th. This time i had too many traction issues to even try. I just purchased brake rotors and pads next mod is definitly going to be tires and LCA's.

dont go giving the manual 5.0 owners a big head: facts are that the M6 is slower stock, slower in bolton, and slower fully modded. <<< did I leave anything out? lol

With a below average-average driver yes. With an average driver it should be faster especially from a roll.

From what i've seen it's only a 10whp difference. You've got to be a damn good driver to pull with a 10whp difference when you've got to shift it yourself. I'm sure in the majority of real world situations, the auto will win.

Nice kill OP! Not bad for an ole fart LS1 with just some bolt-ons.
Just trying to make sure we have our facts straight.

Unless anyone here wants to be in the dark...kinda like thinking a SS is stronger than a Z/28 or a WS6 is faster than a T/A.

Is it accurate to say any full bolt on LS1 SHOULD pull any coyote on the dragstrip or streets? Because I believe OP would of won for sure if traction was available.

There is a vid of me jumping hard on a LS3 vette if i can pop the clutch and aggressively shift from 3rd to 4th it makes a big difference with my car. The LS3 ofcourse caught up for 2 reason one its just faster and 2 and wasnt sure if i wanted to go into 5th or not and then missed 5th, put it back in and it was too late the LS3 came up even quicker on me. I have the vid if i can find it.

Driving back from the airport last friday I ran into a new 5.0 in my z28 and got walked. His car at least had exhaust probably a tune also. I just did it for the heck of it. If it wasn't so damn ugly I might buy one. They do run really well however. My c6 would eat it alive but for a bolt on ls1 it's for sure a struggle.

My buddie ran a stock 2011 6spd Man. GT at the drags last night in his full bolt on Formula. He went 12.5@114 to the Mustangs 12.9@111They ran each other two more times with the same .2-.3 advantage going to my buddy. Those GT's are quite impressive.

This is me with good traction got a good jump on the vette 2011 LS3 A6 and good shift going into 4th, he was going to catch up anyway no denying that but missing going into 5th but did quickly get it back in, didnt matter after that. You can see that backfire from the exhaust cut out from the bottom of the car after missing 5th. Those LS3 Vettes haul a** much respect for those, impressive top end power.

From what I've read the gearing of the auto falls between the 3.55 and the 3.73. Add the fact the auto applies power between shifts and that 10rwhp is erased.

A stock 6A base can trap 110mph+, they are strong.

As I've read it, 3.15(only) for autos and 3.31(standard), optional 3.55 or 3.73 for manuals.

I'd agree the 10hp means nothing(though I've seen different numbers, showing a bigger gap), it's more because the shifts are quicker... I don't see applying power between shifts. In a sense, I guess it could seem like it, but to do that would almost require burning clutches.
