Default 2001 Trans Am WS6 vs GM stage 1 Cobalt SS **VID**

Hey guys. Heres one of the runs from today. Cars...

2001 Trans Am WS6 with only a lid and factory SLP catback
2009 Cobalt SS/TC with GM stage 1 tune

Started from a 1st gear roll. Not sure why the cobalt lifted so early....don't think there were any cars in front of us at the time. I have a bunch of other vids that I'll throw into one big vid and post them up in the next day or so.

I was in the Cobalt, we started from 2nd and the T/A was in 1st. He just lit his tires and didn't even move. I have a video of the interior of the Cobalt incase anyone wanted to say otherwise!

Also it's an 09 SS with GMS1 only. He lifted around 95-100mph because there was a car ahead of the T/A. If we wen't faster the T/A would been up his *** in a hurry.

Good run. 2010 was the last year for the Cobalt...replaced by the Cruze.

good run....

Should have done one more pull to about 140 or so...

What was the starting speed for the race?

Not a bad run at all. Good kill. Maybe he missed his last shift and thats why he fell off all of a sudden

Not 100% sure on the exact speed but the TA was pretty high in the RPM's in 1st. Guessing 40-45 mph or so. Maybe Ju1ce saw the speedo in the cobalt?

And I guess there was in fact a car in front of the cobalt which is why he shut down early.

There was a car in front of the T/A about a 1/4 mile up, you can see it in your video. The Cobalt driver was worried that if we kept going we would have come up on that car in a hurry so he stopped at the top of 3rd, not even 100mph. In the video I have of him shifting he didn't even go into 4th (which is where the T/A would have started yankin hard). He also was brake boosting and got the hit.

Damn that lil' Cobalt suprised me. I didn't think it was going to hang that well. What constitutes that Stage 1 tune? What's the approx. power?

I'd definitely like to see a rematch too, up to a higher speed. Nice kill though, looked like fun!

its just a very safe warrantied GM tune.

approx +20hp & +30tq

so fwhp avg is 270-280 and tq avg 280-290

i really need to dyno mine but it will be hard to throw the cobalt on when im dying to se what the hugger lays down on spray

I'd say it's closer to +40whp and +70wtq. It better do at least that for $700 to turn the boost up.

no way im making 300+ to the wheels.
the kit is way over priced but i was worried about warranty, now im lookin at a tuner.

At sea level without tricking the computer a Turbo SS will make about 235whp stock and around 270 with the GMs1 tune.

If you want to really inflate your numbers take it to a dyno when its like 100 degrees out and it'll put down high corrected numbers.
