I never said that 5.0's are slow, I never said I smoked one with my stock ls1 either. I however did say the are a little over hyped because in my opinion they are. They are fast no doubt, but they are not the ridiculous TT Busa killers that some make them out to be. With that being said, I would love to have one to enjoy, and they seem like a nice platform to build on.

A lot of it comes from who is telling the story. When it's a n00b to this section, we tend to treat them a little differently than someone who we know is a good driver/truthful/etc. If the story comes off as a bit pompous and the distanced seem a bit exaggerated, that's when the **** storm starts.....well that and when someone gives the old "damn, thought these things were supposed to be fast" line.

ok so when people say "a GT is a 12 second car heres some examples," you see it as "5.0's kill TT Busas"?!?!

A friend just got a Brembo GT 5.0 with 3.73's and a 6speed. His best run on street tires here in EL Paso(offical Elevation no DA included)is 3900ft above with da that day being 88degrees and such maybe 5000ft, was a 13.42@107mph. My best time 100% stock down to the paper filter was a 13.86@104.93. Remember elevation is high in EP just in case anyone gets mad about the times. Their faster than a stock A4 LS1. Another friend of mine has a 02 WS6 T56 car. His best time with a K&N drop in filter added was a 13.37@108mph with street tires. Both of these guys can drive well. My buddy with the new 5.0 used to own an 2000 SS T56, so we lost another fbody owner to the new Mustang. Damnit.
Might have to add that the Stang has only 1000 or so miles on it

LOL nah, i always get people trying to race me but never at a good enough time when theres no traffic. my car can be a handful so i dont want to endanger people. I should be getting a roll bar in april so i can finally take it to the track.
yeah, theres a thread i just saw over on camaro5 where some dude got rid of his ls3 2010 camaro that was running 13.5@107.7mph (spinning obviously) and bought himself an auto 5.0 and now runs 12.8@111mph stock. not bad.

Ok I'm going to clear some things up hear. The 2011 gt is a nice quick car, and that's it it's not god. I like them and would love to have one to DD. The thing the mustang owner's and people who are beating them need to realize is they are just another quick car just like you and me have. Just because it is suppose to be faster doesn't mean it is 99% of the time.
