I think I remember reading this too. I believe one of the rags did state that the boss was faster around their test track than the grand sport vette. It was a current issue that tested and compared all four mustangs. They also said the boss cylinder heads were cnc ported and each one spent I think 40 minutes on the machine. So basically, the boss is a heads, cams, intake, geared, tuned GT from the factory. GM...you paying attention?
OP, good vids. Thanks for sharing.

For another 2k you could be pushing close to 600 rwhp out of the gt500. I guess the vette is not going to be the only "rich kid's" car anymore
Or just put a $6000 procharger on a $32000 camaro and it will beat the Boss. There are many scenarios. I drove the GT, the Boss and the GT500, I'm a mustang guy and still bought the vette. Fords are just so damn easy and cheap to mod
Gm is paying attention, its called the ZL1

True, but try to find a boss with no "premium" markup on it. If you get one for 41000, you will be the first. To be realistic, your car is as fast as your wallet is thick. More performance means more money. Anything can be made fast.

Someone will be(or has been) the 1st, so it really doesn't matter for our conversation. You were quoting sticker prices...

2v-in-12's, Im a bit fortunate working at a dealer that i get to drive the vettes. Its absolutly amazing how brutal it accelerates but the suspension and chassy can handle the power and keep the car straight. Ive heard with just a tune and intake they run 118mph easily. Hopefully one day i can afford to buy one but regardless 116mph is amazing running on run flats.

Also 2v-in-12's, I like your sig regarding the recent housework hindering your car's performance even though it already runs awesome slips for a bone stock 09 C6 LS3 A6 that will benefit hugely from a dyno and transmission tune
Makes me wish I was putting my money into an LS3 C6 instead of a turbo 97 TA. Grr, just have to be so damn attached to it

Maybe the same idiot that compares a 2011 GT to a 1998 F-body?!?
Now that I think about it, wasn't there some talk here not to long ago comparing the new GT to a C5Z and that the performance was close, like in a drivers race. Thought I saw something like that. Maybe im mistaken.

That's what I recall as well.

Yeah I guess I missed what you meant here sir? I thought you meant that the cam couldn't be worth much since after only a 200 lb difference (or 20 hp) by removing the passenger, they still only pulled even. I was just clarifying that since the passenger switched it would be a 400 lb difference. The red z (w/out cam) was getting walked while carrying one 200 lb passenger. If you took the passenger out he'd have still got walked I suspect, albeit by a little less. BUT, when you put the passenger directly in the other vehicle, that made them even. That means it took 400 lbs (40 hp) difference for them to run even. Not bad imo for an untuned cam. That red bitch also runs a lot harder than some according to the OP. I may have misinterpreted what you meant though, so disregard if I'm talking to myself here and explaining what you already know lol. Anyways,

At work I just read an article that compares a 5.0 GT to a GT500. They threw a blower on the 5.0 and tested both. The 5.0 pretty much killed it. It's in the new issue of 5.0 Magizine "5.0 Coyote vs 5.4 Condor"
Here's the link

Nice kills and good vid's as usual.

My plans look like 3.42's, headers, catless x-pipe(no sniffers in Lafayette, LA), intake and a good tune. Should be near 400 rwhp and 11.80's in the quarter with dr's @ 120+
Sorry for the
Seems like the LS3 vettes run neck and neck with the c5z. Mod for mod also. 11.80's on street tires or dr's are good enough for me. Plus, the vette is pure Pimp Juice.
