Wow what a close race!! Its rare when you get neck and neck races to 100+mph but it sure is fun when it happens. I always run into my "I'm not letting out until he does" attitude.

yea close race to bad the z06 shifted to 5th the 4th gear in the z goes to 164 or 5 i think shouldnt have shifted

Good race. Very close. Shows how much stronger the '11 GT500 is then the '10 and older.

The GT500 probably had 75-100whp min. on it with its mods listed. New GT500 average 480whp/475wtq stock. With full exhaust, cold air, tune, pulley he probably seen least 75-100whp gain depending on pulley.

Good point. Could of been more than that.

Good rule of thumb is a GT500 needs about 75-100whp more than a C6Z to get the edge.

Both.. be definitely shifted early.. for them to be dead even that long and then the gt to pull up top something is wrong. Liter, better aero, cubes, etc and it gets pulled up top?

He would have had to pull a few down low to hold him off up top. A c6z is going to shine in 3rd and 4th gear.

2011 gt500s are lighter then prior years by a good amount. weigh like 3800lbs compared to prior years 4k+

aerodynamics alone should have gave the edge to the z06 the faster they went or so i would think. great race either way.
