GT500 are good cars, but only if modified, the C6z's mods cost more then the ******* car! GTR's are not Expensive to modify, but if something goes bad, like said above, you will have to give a leg away to fix it, and why would nissan install launch control on the car if they will not cover it once something breaks or goes bad while using it? Thats just straight up retarded if you ask me! If I were to buy a car and build it and expect 600rwhp, it would be a f-body all day.
As for prices on modifications. If you buy exhaust from Nismo (Nissan Aftermarket company) expect to pay an arm and a leg for parts. Mods are expensive but paying 8 grand for an exhaust is overpriced. AMS sells bolt on and tune kits that make 550awhp on pump gas/600+ awhp on race gas for 6 grand.
I know all this **** because I'm torn between a used GT-R or a used C6 Z06 as my next car.

Actually the 2012 GT-R's have better aero and more agressive gearing. A stock C6 Z06 has a drag coefficient of .29 compared to the GT-R's .27 drag coefficient. Look at the gear ratios as well. The gearing for the GT-R keeps it constantly in powerband compared to the Z06 which has extremely long gears and two over drives, which the Z06 depends more on its displacement than its gearing. check this out, both cars are stock in this vidd:

c6 zo6 is a drivers car could be bad could be good. good driver and tires 10.8 in quarter.. gtr is pretty sweet but hands down c6 zo6 is a super car for price..

OK dude. It sounds like you didn't read my previous post? Nissan Covers launch control completely now. I even attached an article. Yes the GT-R is expensive to fix and maintain but they do cover all of the factory features currently.

I would defiantly pick a Z06 over a GTR any day, Z06's with 10-20k invested, and GTR's can enjoy a good view of those tailights!
GTR's are faster, but IMO Z06's are alot more fun.

Very possible... I don't know exact numbers, just that it would definitely be 170mph+.
