Default G8GT vs 2011 5.0 Stang

The stang won by 0.04's, 1/8 mile track, Irwindale Dragway, yesterday. , i can only imagine what that car with some DR's will run.

I talked to the driver since i wanted to race one, to see how they really perform live at the track. stock tires vs stock tires. car was M6, with axelbacks, FRPP Mach1 functional Shaker, factory 3.73 gears and SCT tune.

I did have a better 60' though, but that car 3rd gear is awesome, the tank can launch on all season tires, but it's lacking the 5.0 top end.

G8GT - 5.0 Stang
R/T -- .441 --- .689
60' -- 1.937 --- 2.079
330 -- 5.490 --- 5.557
1/8 -- 8.368 --- 8.321
MPH -- 85.93 --- 89.26

My best run of the night yesterday was an 8.33@86.26, 1.945 60'

That's pretty much exactly what I've been seeing.

Have seen 1 pull a 1.90 60ft though

The 5.0 topend is'nt that great....it's the gearing. The tranny is geared steep, they use 5 gears for accelerating. It makes gm's double overdrive **** look silly.

Makes sense, why not.

Good run for both cars.

The gearing in the 5.0 is pretty good. The 5th is its 1:1 gear. 6th gear is just dead.

The best 60ft i seen on stock tires is 1.89. The guy did a John Force burn out. Why Ford decided to put stupid 235 ties on the car is beyond me.

That's a good 60 on a stock tire.

Interesting, a worse 60ft, better ET and far better trap speed, the 5.0 is a quick car. Nice runs.
