Don't take this the wrong way, but do you really own anything heavy enough to justify the cost of a diesel over a similarly equipped gas truck?

My truck with the lowly LQ4 (compared to 8.1 and Duramax) is still overkill for my fully loaded (water tank, camping gear, etc.) 2004 Jayco Jay Flight 29FBS travel trailer.

Holy ****! Poor dude. Sorry to see that viper go. Ive only witnessed a similar scenario happen once in person. Wasnt as near as a loss as a viper.. but the car had a lot of history.

Granted a Viper is a big loss, I'd say a car that has a lot of history and likely blood/tears into it was worth more to that owner than this Viper that Ohio made sound like the owner recently got.

At the end of the day, cars are replaceable - people aren't. Glad he is OK.

I couldnt use that. I have the BMR k member. Which should act like the same thing realistically since it uses small poly motor mounts. I also have in the mail, a whiteline trans mount poly bushing. It basically just fills the open areas with no rubber, with poly. Between these new parts, setting the instant center, and slicks... i expect a killer 60ft

Full exhaust, full drivetrain from clutch to tires....

Build it like you dont have a blower...

Dont think in terms of HP. Think in terms of making the motor rev faster in, and out, of gear....

Then you will have a FAST blower car...

Yep I'll confirm later when I datalog.. but my pulley/tune setup was.... wait for it.... wait for it.... 28 degrees advance maybe that's why it made 558. He does some work in the tunes I have no clue about... but it works.. is safe.. has zero knock, perfect a/f's.

Hes done a lot with this car. Probably 50 hours detailing just to get new like paint. It was his dream car since he was 8. He sold a completely built 13 5.0 that made over 900whp on e85.

Hopefully he has better luck in the future. I know the C7's and depreciation are helping me out with realizing my dream car here shortly.

Except now I kind of am falling in love with the C7s. Would still never pay $69k for a fully loaded Corvette (3LT, z51)

Agreed. I was actually going to restore the car. I bought the chassis off him. Unfortunately right after doing so, I was laid off and had no way of doing it. Had to junk the shell. Originally the plan was to full restore the body (i know a lot of body shop guys and they too knew the cars history) and were basically gonna help me out for free..just pay for materials. Then was gonna toss the drivetrain and build a standing mile car out of it. Pipe dreams I guess.....

Car had a nitrous back fire... a big one at that. And the fuel line caught fire... then the gas tank went up in flames. Whole back of the car was cooked (cosmetically, not structurally).

At this point... he needs to step back and take some time off. Ive been through the bad luck thing. The harder you try, the worse it gets. Time away from it will hopefully get rid of that bad luck. Worked for me.

Sucks man. On a better note, to my knowledge you aren't currently laid off and have a car that runs pretty stout anyway.

(Besides our jokes with you when you don't run what you want to at the drag strip )

Wow that really sucks... Sorry to hear that.

Same here... I ended up first on scene at a wreck where the car was burning and the victim was trapped and needed extraction. Nothing I could do but talk to the guy (keep him calm) and wait for fire to get on scene. Put an extunghuiser in both vehicles the next morning and will never go without one now.
