I could see if passing on it for that if you're wanting to keep it stock but if you want to mod it what's the big deal? I'd love to own a H/C/I sprayed C6Z. Such a simple combo and still stupid fast.

I'd rather have an LS3 with 20k to dispose of and put a blower on it and keep my valves in the head and destroy stock C6z for the same price

Dad has a mild cammed '99 Z28, I would say the specs but he lost the sheet and test drove it, liked how it felt & ran, so he didn't really give a **** about the specs anyway. If I find it I'll post it. Anyway, stock heads, mystery cam (pretty mild, pulls good to 6500, smooth torque curve, made 378 at the tire before LS6 intake WITH the Ford 9" and 3.90s he has.) 1-7/8" headers, Hooker Aerochamber mufflers stacked in sequence (he said just one was "too loud" for his taste.) He wants more power, and to stay N/A. He cruises around in this thing from time to time, probably drives it 2-3 times a week. Daily drive-ability is important to him and his current cam gives him that. I told him for a simple and effective swap, you can't go wrong with ported 243's, but I want to hear some other input on heads for his combo. Budget isn't really an object, he was thinking about having a shop put a blower on it until he decided on the NA route.

Now I feel like ohio asking for tech stuff in the SRK

Ya if you want a stock car go for it. But if you plan on doing heads/cam it's not a big deal or expensive. And if you buy a Z06 u should be able to afford to do the heads, hell my corsa cost as much as my heads lol.

The Z06 to base model money comparison is all personal preference. Just like Z06 to ZR1

All the ones I have seen quit, the plastic bushings come apart in them after awhile. You can hear it trying but it doesn't do anything. I pulled to door panel and took the speaker out. Three bolts hold the motor on and you can get the motor out through the speaker hole. The problem is I'm not so sure what the fix is for them......IDK if anyone is. Some want to blame the valves....which is wrong imo. It seems to be a guide wear issue. Some of them after getting the fix still experience the guide wear issue. We raced on the oe valve....roadraced at that. It don't get much harder on **** than endurance roadracing. That program got cut short and a typical roadrace engine gets rebuilt at about 30hrs. So idk what the long term out come would be.

Nope.....misinformed AGAIN. I don't like them much because I find them relatively unimpressive for their power and how complex they are.

I'm not really biased.....If I was then I would not say I like the new Ford stuff. It's the old **** that was ****.

HiO, when you install the LS7 what are you going to do in order to prevent the dropped valve problem?

LS3 heads would completely eliminate the problem or an aftermarket head like a Mast or AFR.

Aftermarket heads have been failing on the Ls7s too. Some guys think its a heat problem.

Snake done up 799/243 heads and fast 102 with 92/102 Nw Tb

LoL, I bet I'm the only one that clicked on the link, very nice

I'll probably just replace the whole motor, since it is almost 25 years old.
