I could see if passing on it for that if you're wanting to keep it stock but if you want to mod it what's the big deal? I'd love to own a H/C/I sprayed C6Z. Such a simple combo and still stupid fast.

Dad has a mild cammed '99 Z28, I would say the specs but he lost the sheet and test drove it, liked how it felt & ran, so he didn't really give a **** about the specs anyway. If I find it I'll post it. Anyway, stock heads, mystery cam (pretty mild, pulls good to 6500, smooth torque curve, made 378 at the tire before LS6 intake WITH the Ford 9" and 3.90s he has.) 1-7/8" headers, Hooker Aerochamber mufflers stacked in sequence (he said just one was "too loud" for his taste.) He wants more power, and to stay N/A. He cruises around in this thing from time to time, probably drives it 2-3 times a week. Daily drive-ability is important to him and his current cam gives him that. I told him for a simple and effective swap, you can't go wrong with ported 243's, but I want to hear some other input on heads for his combo. Budget isn't really an object, he was thinking about having a shop put a blower on it until he decided on the NA route.

Ya if you want a stock car go for it. But if you plan on doing heads/cam it's not a big deal or expensive. And if you buy a Z06 u should be able to afford to do the heads, hell my corsa cost as much as my heads lol.
The Z06 to base model money comparison is all personal preference. Just like Z06 to ZR1

Nope.....misinformed AGAIN. I don't like them much because I find them relatively unimpressive for their power and how complex they are.
I'm not really biased.....If I was then I would not say I like the new Ford stuff. It's the old **** that was ****.

Aftermarket heads have been failing on the Ls7s too. Some guys think its a heat problem.

All the ones I have seen quit, the plastic bushings come apart in them after awhile. You can hear it trying but it doesn't do anything. I pulled to door panel and took the speaker out. Three bolts hold the motor on and you can get the motor out through the speaker hole. There is a writeup with pics about halfway down the page here:http://i.huffpost.com/gen/200320/INE...ORTER-JETS.jpg
LoL, I bet I'm the only one that clicked on the link, very nice

I'll probably just replace the whole motor, since it is almost 25 years old.
