Not surprized.

Even though I didn't get a tune from rhino / GPI I'm pretty sure they can have the new zo6 tune on point. Won't be new to them, AFM, VVT , boost. Costly- yes I can imagine.

AFM (GM) DoD (Chystler) - same thing 4cyl mode
&
I don't think the Hemi engines had anything like VVT - just the factory PCM was so hard to crack so prevented the Mopar boys from upgrading big ie supercharger, cams, gears.
But now I think tuners learned how to tune the PCM without piggy backing or other tricks - not to sure though could be wrong.

Not yet, but my guess is there will be. The fact that the upcoming C7 Z06's HP rating is less than that of the old C6 ZR1, my guess is there will be an even more powerful vette to come. That and the LT5 moniker would be just perfect.

The LT5 needs to be a high-revving monster. Maybe do the opposite of my L88 idea; a high-revving (maybe destroked) LS7 with a ridiculous high-rpm cam, extrude-honed/ported heads and a short-runner intake.

That would be ridiculous but I doubt they'll take that route. Lol

A big cube DOHC motor from Chevy would be awesome, but I won't hold my breath.

New ZR1 needs to be a mid 400 cubic inch motor with a 91mm.

1 cam is fine. VVT is a good thing. That would be nice on a 7.0

Oh for shizzle. Hopefully things like pneumatic valvetrains will continue being developed, because think how badass a 4V LS motor would be without having to worry about the extra weight/space of a traditional valvetrain.

This was at LVMS in +1900 DA. At my home track back in Cali it probably would have went 9.7X's with the air we get out there.
Nice, stock gears or what?

i don't see cam swaps in the new Z being all that different from a cam swap on an L99....IF you're using a VVT cam
