If you only get 500 miles out of MTs you're doing it wrong.

I had 50+ track passes and 1000 street miles on a set of 275/50/15s I had and sold them with at LEAST 50% tread.

I have more than 500 miles on my Mustang's MT's. I can't say they are a great tire though. Try some M&H dr's. IDK if they make your size 427 but they are worth a look.

I like the nt05r for something you can daily drive and still have hook with decent power.

Wow, I didn't get anywhere near 500 miles. I took a picture some time back when I had mid-high 400s. I knew they were gettin' down there, but was walkin' out to the car one afternoon and just happened to catch sun highlightin' all the innerds down the middle.

But at the end of the day, they're competition street radials... and it's all subjective to the individual. I'm, of course, a highly skilled, exceptionally talented driver, with finely tuned senses which provide the means to gauge issues which are likely beyond the means to discern by those with lessor skill ... which, I expect, is pretty much everyone.

So... well, you know ... . ( 5.13s )

Well... there's that too. And that's hard to argue with, unless you're travelin', in a Vette, without a crew and another vehicle.

I can tell you that the Z would carry the Slicks. It was neither pretty nor comfortable... but it got done. I expect that the Vette Config, will find that 'challenging' at best.

The amazing thing about drag radials is you can drive to the track on the same tires you race on. It's pretty nifty.

K... I did it myself. But my car is not a sweet *** Vette. It's more along the lines of what one would expect to find a set of slicks, jack, tool box, impact, air-tank, cooler, assorted fluids, 3 week old water and a spent 12ver floating in.

Oh Man... Life's flopped flat out between me and any fun Brother? Ever happen to you?

Car's been sittin' in the shop up on jacks. I get out there from time to time and no sooner do I get a train of thought going, than someone calls, needing somethin'.

Down to a tough spot on the passenger side, where the front of the LCA attaches to the Unibody. Turns out that I ripped that brace apart and off the skin, bent the **** out of the chassis/frame that runs along the outside under the door. It flexed a good 8 inches when it went. Sufficient to break the adjustment **** off the brand new shock.

So, here I sit with the new bad-*** top-end, brand new Sub-frame connectors, New Track-pak Adjustable control arm and almost new (new-2-u) rear anti-sway bar... and can't find the time to get through this welding crap.

It's well beyond my experience level, so it's something I have to do > s l o w < and deliberate. Assuming the Lotto doesn't kick in... it's gonna be a while.

Saw something on the web the other day, decided to stop by and something flickered. So I thought it might be the beginning of some ambition to get back to the build and so I decided to kill it, by coming in here.

How you been?

Who knows. What it "should be" and "what it'll do" and "what it will do with me driving it" are all different things. It should be a low 10's car, our air in Texas and the right night could net exactly that; but I'll probably blow the tires off it, and run 12's. We'll see.

I was looking at those as my other main option. Regardless, these won't be daily tires, they'll strictly be for events.

Lolz! Who knew so many Branco fans existed!

Yep, NT05's or 555R's were my main thoughts. I have NT05's on C5Z's for the fronts, just need to decide what rears I need.
