87 92 302 Fords had better rods and crank than the 305 motor. The 305 Tpi stick shift with dual cats put out the same power as the 302 Ford. However when 305 Tbi Rs Camaros with same options were the same amount of money as a V8 Lx the choice was easy. Hell used Tpi automatic 305s were selling more than a new Lx. Auto Tpi 305 post 85 had the tbi cam and were slow and dead by 4600.hence the bad rap. Same with carbed and tbi 305s
Clean is overrated. I prefer trailer park camelion (5+ colors). Lol sad part is my third gen is straight, interior is 8 of 10. Paint and it would be beautiful. But im diggin ppl thinking its a heap because all the colors.

You think the 6.0 is bad check this out. Try 7 MPG and 10 MPG when not towing in the ford lololol
My work truck right now is an F250 SD with the 5.4. I can say that the 5.3 even is so much better at towing/mileage. The 6.0 would be even better than this thing.
I have to tow around manlift towers (about 6000 lbs) and light carts (About 4000 lbs) and the truck I had before this 03 silverado with the 5.3 towed better, and accelerated better
Its a tough truck and has taken the abuse I've thrown at it (its a govt vehicle so I drive it like I stole it) but there is definitely something wrong when a 1500 outperforms a 2500. My F250 is a 2008 BTW. It's nice, and does the job the transmission in this thing is bad ***, but the chevy was just all around a better truck.

The Ecoboost is an entirely different animal. Turbos spool and it goes. End of story. Well, until you're running 87 in it and it's pulling timing like a boss. Which it does every time it go WOT.
Hating the rental car look of the Fusion, so getting a set of 18" TSW Nurburgrings for it. I think it will look a little better anyway... Gunmetal grey
It will still be slow though....

Whoa whoa whoa, I wasn't addressing you at all. You wanna group yourself with Hio? Fine. His dumbass always tries to compare the 302 and the 305 when it's really a lopsided assrape fest, that's all I'm pointing out to him.
I don't care if you ran 4's in your 305, no offense. I'm talking about the fact that we ALL know for every 305 you see run well on the street, you see twenty 302s that run well. Better chassis? Yep 302 again with the Fox Mustang. Looks are subjective, of course.
This is coming from a guy (me) who greatly prefers 3rd gen looks to 4th gen looks, I respect them, but Hio's ignorance knows no bounds sometimes. I don't hate on third gens at ALL. I just won't sit and listen to people say the 305 was even in the same ballpark as a 302.
We had this discussion before and the best response from that side of the fence was to swap a 350 in I rested my case at that point.
As soon as I mentioned the aftermarket, a whole bunch of guys jumped in (mainly HiO) saying you could use factory SBC castings and make a 305 run well and that the 302 depends on the aftermarket, I say who gives a ****? Options are available whether they come from the tooth fairy or the OEM. Then I asked where all those factory-part builds were, just assuming they'd be crawling all over the street and it was...yet again...crickets.
That explanation is perfectly logical, too, by Hio's ridiculous arguing tactics because when the 4v Ford motor won the engine master's challenge (top 3 I believe), it was a whole bunch of "Yeah I'm sure all you Ford boys are gonna drop that in your Mustang, see them all over the place dontcha?!" sarcastically. Same with the fastest 4.6 mod motors.
The reason is that most people would rather jack off with napalm than sink money into a GM 305. For the people that do it and make them run well, I have a TON of respect for those guys because they are not the norm.

I wasnt arguing that, I just said they arent all total boat anchors. The GM 307 however? Boat anchor. I was replying mostly to the assrapings you were handing out in your high 15 second on a good day 99 v6 mustang. lol. Its all good man, I prefer the third gens over fox bodies personally. But if I had another one it would quickly have a boosted LS in it.
307's were junk.
