Put some cast iron heads and a hydraulic flat tappet cam in that LS6 and see where that gets you..and that 351 was a far cry from "built". It was by your definition full of stock FORD parts.

How about this for light weight, the car at that time had no cage, the FULL factory interior, and windshield wipers. Probably weighed around 3300 pounds without me at the time.

Exactly... I'm lucky to have to junk I have at all. The girls are happy though and never go without. That's all that matters.

LOL at a fox weighing 3300.....did you put ballast in the ******? My notch weighs 3060.....with ac and all. Only weight reduction is tubular k/control arms and drag pack. That termi engine and all the crap that goes with it weighs much more than your iron 351. It also has full interior. 03Turbo's hatch car weighed 29xx with about the only weight reduction being drag pak and no ac.

First time I went 11.1.....My race weight about 3300+. Full factory interior to .....if that's what gets you hard. Full of stock furd parts? Untouched furd parts? You know....untouched heads....factory valves, factory type valve job?? Was you on the awesomeness of a tire like a nitto???? Probably not. I bet you were on a slick. Flat tappet cams were never known to work well.....was it solid? Cause my bet is that if it were hydraulic you would've said that. So how come you did not post the mph on your 11.2 run?.....you know I like mph Did you run a furd intake? I also went 11.1 on a ls6 intake....and no rockers....no rear pan either.....YOU HEAR THAT SNAKE....lol

I haven't been on here like I was. I changed jobs at my job and don't have the spare time like I did.

At that time, the car averaged around 118 mph with the occaisional 119. It was a fully loaded, stock Mustang hatch back with a cast iron headed Windsor, so it was going to be heavier than your coupe...there goes that logic again


As far as what I ran in Guitar's car, this is the first time I have seen anybody ask. Track was bad and it sat and spun on the first pas so bad that I don't recall what it ran. I dropped the launch 500 rpms and it bogged on the next pass to the tune of a 12.50.

Many guys are switching from turbo to direct crank driven centrifugal's in heads up class racing. Turbo's get hit with a hefty weigh penalty where as centris are allowed to be lighter.

Then again I went to the Snowbird Nationals in February saw a ton of nitrous cars. I can only assume they did this due to they get a bigger weight break than turbo's and centri's.

My logic is spot on for the most part. I missed the hydraulic part of your cam. But to think a flat tappet cam of choice wound slow down my ls6 is stupid and reaching. ........ and not stock.

I told you what the notch weighs. I told you what 03turbos hatch with all iron 302 weighs. ....which was lighter than the notch by 100lb... The termi engine is heavier than that 351.......by a fair amount. Seems to me like my logic is spot on there. Your black car did not weigh 3300.

btw...... Your built 351 was 5 mph slower with me on a ls6 intake and in a heavier car. Out et'd ya too. So with you wanting to put a flat tappet cam in my car and me adding weight to your car I would call it a wash with you still losing.

from the way it sounds you either can't drive any better than guitar or his car really is a pile.

Given I have under 5k invested in parts and the car and I've rebuilt the entire front suspension, put a very low mileage rear in it, and did most bolt ons, I feel I'm doing pretty good 180k miles and keeps on keeping on.

61432 stipulations and excuses juuuuuuuuuuuuust from Heater saying he went 11.2 with outdated junk Ford parts. Then of course the MPH is king because you've got **** else to say. This is better than stand-up comedy. With more aluminum sheets and less hood hinges, maybe he could have put up Supra times like you.
