Lol it was an LS2, pretty much BONE stock auto . CAI and tune lol. He couldn't 60' very well at all.

It depends on the brand of CAI and if he did an IAT relocate. Those things pull crazy timing from the factory after they get hot. He actually ran fairly decent if that's all he had done on an auto.

Figured the GTO would have ran better with the tune and CAI. Stock A4 GTOs are dogs with the tune GM gives them

z06 i ran earlier (bolt on cam) just blew up 1 hour ago...

When I opened up hood to look inside between headers I could see a 1/4 of a piston and also a rod completely mangled into a ciruclar mess. Worst carnage I have seen to date in person.


Anyone know how this could of happened ? He recently put headers and didn't re tune but I don't think a tune would do that much destruction. We are all wondering wtf happened.

Probably wanted more fuel, since it was probably an upgrade, went lean with the new headers etc...

Bet it was a dropped exhaust valve if he still runs the stock exhaust valves. Every time those drop they put a big hole in the block

Yeah lol. Happened to a friends SRT, injector failed it detonated piston and rod disintegrated into the oil pan. It doesn't help you guys only have 87 over there too.

He was tuned for crappy octane. Car has been in country for 4 years running at current level... 20k miles on it.

I thought it could be headers and not tuning... leaned it out and serious deto but I have never seen a rod be thrown through the block in that way because of deto.

Who knows, ive personally seen it. But idk how bad it would throw the tune off, but just adding headers. Usually if its a mod that will pick up power it goes leaner and you gotta throw fuel at it. Could be the valve drop though from what i read thats common.

Poor guy.

We had all gone home and the only reason he took car out again was cuz I ran the 1000hp tt z06 and he had the accelerating fever. He wasn't even racing just ******* around.
