The 1-2 shift is not that big a deal. The gear ratio is still low enough for the motor to pull up......and your still only goin ~60mph. What's gonna screw you with the t56 is that 3-4 shift. It's gonna fall on it's face. A friend put a t-56 in his turbo mach.....it hurt it a little. Actually it seemed to hurt it alot on the street. The close rpm would be a much better choice imo.

The 1-2 shift drops me almost to 4,000rpms. How do you figure thats not that big of deal?

The close ratio is the ticket but the 2.66 1st gear would ruin my car at the track and off the line in general. Also I see what you are saying about the 3rd to 4th shift but it still only drops me to 4,800ish which is fine.

I say that about the 1-2 shift on the 3650 because the gearing is still low enough that it don't hurt it much on that shift.....I mean **** your barely to 60 mph. The motor has plenty of snot to pull threw that. But dropping that gutless wonder below 5000 on the 3-4 shift is what would worry me. There is right at 1000rpm difference on the 3-4 between the close and the wide ration t56's.

get the close ratio magnum. You have a reving platform... you need to keep the gears close. The 2.97 ratio is more set for ZR1/GT500 platforms. You will be hurting yourself with that trans. 2.66 + 4.88 gears.

@ 6900rpms my computer throws in the towel. I could upgrade to a modified 01 Cobra ecu which I've thought about and would allow revs like you. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut......

I was under the impression he was shifting @ 6800 to post a graph like that.

Mach's have a funky power curve. I always thought they kinda fell on their face at high rpm. They feel kinda gutless everywhere.

lol wtf? They make 300ish to the tires and weigh less than a LS1. Run damn near the same MPH and better ET...but somehow they are "gutless everywhere"?

Well I got into it with my boss and now they are trying to suspend me for 7 days... good thing I sold my car if it goes through my paycheck will hurt bad. I really need to hear from one of my applications I hate this place

Good luck. I know exactly what it is to be up that alley. If you could delete people out of the equation, work would always be much easier.

Someone complained on me, and of course without talking to me about it the Chief of my service took their side and tried to reprimand me. Granted, I could have been a little bit more professional about it I guess (I refused to sign it and walked out of the office before I said some other stuff that I would regret later, I cant stand the ground the guy walks on) but I still went to my union rep and she said I should be good because they didn't read me my weingarten rights (Its like miranda for administrative punishment) or anything.

I'm gonna try to transfer to another Department here, like logistics or HR or maybe go back to the Sheriff's Office if I don't get hired soon at the 2 places I applied.


On a brighter note, I am ordering valve springs today, and I bought a barely used tick Master Cylinder and looking at ordering these wheels:
