So if someone bought a Boss crate engine and put it in their new Mustang; you wouldn't think it would be a big deal?

Right.....

Only if it is out a ZR1 which is what LS9 if remember right. For 9800 you have a deal. Complete turn key engine.

I know a guy that got a Boss engine brand new from ford for 6500. A month later they raised the price to 11k. He got it on an error for that price.

Noice!
Hey, mids 11's ain't bad for basically some improved heads and small cam either way you look at it. It's not like the factory LS6 cam is a monster, its just a tad better than the stock LS1. Same goes for the 243 heads vs. LS1 - slight improvement. I'm sure with some slight adjustments 'Hiossilver' could be knocking on 10's doors.

IS it just a LS1 with cam and heads. I mean if that was case it would not have been easier to buy a used LS1 and put a better cam and heads in it.

I think the point is that he try's to hype his car as it is a stock LS1 with some bolt ons when he has a LS6 to run 11s. His LS1 ran 12's by his sig.
Give credit where credit is due! His 10 year old engine will outrun your 2011 with nothing more than some bolt-ons!

So his LS1 is out running me with him just having Bolt ons? Not going to happen. Guaranteed.

You act as if LS1's have never been quicker than high 11's w/ bolt-ons...sorry to rain on your parade, they have. Doesn't take 'tons' of weight reduction either.

My Formula went a best of 11.86 stock internals. Barely off the mark for the 'S.I. Fastest List' here. And that was 2006. lol

I just bought everything to make my engine a Boss 302 and it cost me less then that. That is with upgraded FRPP cams over the regular Boss.

LOL..My car will go faster then high 11's. Some of us don't only run our car when it is winter time. We even run in 90* weather. Which is last time I was able to run. Look at what my time is corrected for good air. My next passes will be in great weather. We will see what it does then.

If you look at dates on list all them are winter months for best times. Which tells you they had great DA's. Why cause cars run faster in the winter then mid summers like TX. Also I have looked and racing weight of every one of them that went below mid 11s is under 3300lbs. Some them weigh 2800lbs. That is a lot of weight removed.

Let's talk about the LS1's on that list that went mid to high 11's...many of them having a raceweight of 3400#lbs +. Keep in mind mid-high 11's is where majority bolt-on 2011+ GT's are at. All of the GT's below mid 11's have some weight taken out too.

Just face it, the 4th gen is a tough platform.
